Overview

Darkness shrouds the land of Athryn; it encroaches from the fell North. Trydes Lorendon is unable to acclimate to this world, being full of depravity and prejudice as it is. It is with the elves of the land that he finds acceptance, adopting their language, culture, and way of life as his own. Upon his twenty-first birthday, Trydes sees a torment of his past, and thus begins a quest for vengeance. His retribution does not appease the gods, and he returns to find chaos where order once was. For this, he embarks upon yet another quest of vengeance and justice. Along the way, he discovers a mythical, divine sword called Althyrim, and with it, a destiny to which it will remain ever difficult to cling. He soon learns it is rare to find peace in vengeance. With this sword and a brace of companions, Trydes must surpass all odds and trials, even betrayal, in order to contend with and defeat a fallen god, known only as the One of Shadows. War sets upon the land; destruction is inevitable. Hope is gone, innocence falls corrupted, but only the greatest Hero, called the Solo Requiem, can restore light to a scarred, dark land.

About the Author

J.C.C. Palmer (Jordan Christopher Cross Palmer) was born on February 22, 1993. He began to plan his first stories from a young age, and that took a leap when he first read J.R.R. Tolkien's epic fantasy Lord of the Rings and Edgar Allan Poe's classic poem "The Raven." From there, his writing career climbed, even through the tumults of his early adolescent years. This is his first book. Beside writing, Palmer also enjoys to read, enjoy his athleticism, and engage in the video gaming realm. He lives in Colorado Springs, CO, but will move to Seattle, WA, and attend Seattle Pacific University, intending to major in linguistics.
