Overview

The Clique (Clique Series #1) by Lisi Harrison

Mean Girls meets Middle School in The Clique... The only thing harder than getting in, is staying in.

Enter Claire Lyons, the new girl from Florida in Keds and two-year-old Gap overalls, who is clearly not Clique material. Unfortunately for her, while they look for a new home, Claire's family is staying in the guesthouse of the one and only Massie Block -- Queen Bee of Octavian Country Day School. Claire's future looks worse than a bad Prada knockoff. But with a little luck and a lot of scheming, Claire might just come up smelling like Chanel No. 19.

Meet the rest of the Clique:

Massie Block - With her glossy brunette bob and laser-whitened smile, Massie is the uncontested ruler of The Clique and the rest of the social scene at Octavian Country Day School, an exclusive private girls' school in Westchester County, New York. Massie knows you'd give anything to be just like her.

Dylan Marvil - Massie's second in command who divides her time between sucking up to Massie and sucking down Atkins Diet shakes.

Alicia Rivera - As sneaky as she is beautiful, Alicia floats easily under adult radar because she seems so "sweet." Would love to take Massie's throne one day. Just might.

Kristen Gregory - She's smart, hardworking, and will insult you to tears faster than you can say "my haircut isn't ugly!"

The clique is ah-mazing. Although the characters are bratty, spoiled, and selfish it is a good book because it teaches you how to deal with problems and there are stuff in this book that would probably never happen in real life such as a 12 year old girl needing the latest fashions everyday. I reccomend this book for girls that want to read about friendship, girl stuff, and last but not least cliques.

The Clique was a really good book. I thought Lisi Harrison did a really good job writing it. It was like it came right from a preteen's mind. Not only is it funny and humorous, it really tells you a lot about how junior high is. I learned from this book that girls can be mean, and instead of trying to fit in and go with the flow, be yourself. I couldn't stop reading these books until I got to the end of the series. Props to Lisi!! I reccommend this book to any girl looking for a good read.

The clique by Lisi Harrison is filled with amazing twists that won’t let you put your book down! In the novel, Massie Block is the head of the most popular group at OCD (Octavian Country Day School)…THE CLIQUE. Massie’s clique includes her best friends Kristen, Alicia, and Dylan. But when Claire Lyons (in Massie’s view, a girl who wears nothing but gap) moves into Massie’s guesthouse, Massie’s world turns upside down. What will happen to Massie and her friends? Will the Clique break apart? Or will Claire join the clique? Although the book is Realistic Fiction, it’s filled with suspense.

I loved this book! This whole series is an excellent read for any girl about ten and up. The main characters include Massie, who is a spoiled brat, Kristen, who is an athletic and very smart girl, Alicia who is a beautiful Spanish lady, and Dylan, who tries every diet out there. The main plot of this story is that Massie¿s parents¿ friends are not only moving to town, they are moving into Massie¿s guesthouse. When the Lyon¿s move in, Massie realizes she has to become fiends with this loser, Claire.
The writing style in this book is perfect teenage language. This is one of my favorite books because I can relate to so much going on. It is almost like the author stepped into the life of a thirteen-year-old. There is one part of the book where a conflict occurs between the clique and Claire. The girls text to communicate to help ruin the situation. This is one of the best books ever. I think any girl who reads this will absolutely love it!

I love the Clique Series. I own and have read every book in the collection. Lisi Harrison is a great author. I think the Clique is very relatable to teen girls. We've all been Massies ad we've all been Clairs in our life, and if you haven't, you will. Read this book, along with the rest of the series.

This book is so great. For any young teen who is having any troubles at school should read this book. Now that I am 56 years old I wish I read this book when I was a young teen.

LOVE this book! It tells a story about snobby mean girls who get anything they want. They then change a bit, and let somebody who is new to the school, and with a lower social status, into their group. I think it dends a good message to teenage girls.

Clique novels are kind of my guilty pleasure--I mean, I'm a writer; I should be chastising myself for picking one up because once I started, I couldn't stop! They're addictive and a good break from "good" literature. I'm in sixth grade and I've recommended these books to some people I know who don't really like reading, and fascinatingly, I've found that they get a better reception from those people than the ones who DO like to read. Anyway, the story goes like this: uber-rich Massie Block parades around with her band of uber-rich friends and lives anyone's dream life until Claire Lyons, a down-to-earth, middle-class girl comes to live with her. Kind of shallow, but if you read these books you will know what I mean about them being addictive. I would recommend.

If you're looking for a really deep, meaningful, shocking book with many well thought out plot twists, this is not the book for you. However, if you're looking for something that is a light read for fun, this book is great. When I was reading this book, I found it pretty hard to put down. It was amusing, and it did depict some realistic scenes. Overall, I would definitely read it, as long as you don't have expectations of a riveting book.

I've watched the movie based on this book about a million times and I absolutley loved it. So I decided to give the book series a try and I literally could not put my nook down. This was such a great book. I would recommend this to any girl who loves realistic fiction, drama and suspense. This book will never bore you. It always has some sort of drama on basically every page. You will always be excited to see what happens next.
