Aria Whitney has little in common with the delicate ladies of London society. Her famous father made his fortune hunting archaeological treasures, and her rustic upbringing has left her ill prepared for a life of parties and frippery. But when Gideon Whitney goes missing, Aria must embrace the unknown. Armed with only the short list of highborn men who'd backed her father's venture, she poses as a woman looking for a husband. She doesn't intend to find one.

Adam Willoughby, Earl of Merewood, finds London's strangest new debutante fascinating, but when he catches her investigating his family's secrets, he threatens to ruin her reputation. He doesn't intend to enjoy it so much.

When their lustful indiscretion is discovered, Adam finds that he regrets nothing. But now, as Aria's father's enemy draws near, Adam must convince his betrothed that she can trust him with her own secrets…before it's too late.

A thrilling read, Cloaked in Danger was a wonderful historical romance. It was full of romance, secrets, and I really enjoyed reading it. Aria was a good heroine. She was very strong and determined and fiercely loyal to her loved ones. However, she was also a tad bit too impulsive. But, overall, I liked her. Adam was also great. At times, he was a bit too stubborn and overprotective. But, I also liked that he was so protective of his loved ones. He was sweet and I really liked him. The romance was good. I wasn't totally feeling it, partly because both Aria and Adam were so focused on their agendas and they spent a large part of the book apart. But, I thought they were sweet together and there was definitely chemistry between them. The plot was fast paced and I was hooked the entire way through. There were tons of thrills and secrets along the way that kept me on the edge of my seat. I suspected who the villain turned out to be, but I certainly didn't guess the extent to which this person went and how insane this person was. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was a perfect wrap-up for the story. Cloaked in Danger was a wonderful historical romance. It wasn't perfect, but it was still a lovely read. The romance was sweet, the thrills kept me on the edge of my seat, and the story was enjoyable. Romance lovers, this is a book worth checking out. *I received a free copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review

Aria must go into high society to find her father. She isn't looking for a rich husband even if that is what they all think. She has a list of men that may know where her father is and she will do anything to find him. She attracts the eye of Adam when he catches her digging into his family's background. While she intrigues him he never figures he would fall for her. When he ruins her reputation and when they become betrothed he sure didn't figure on wanting more and more of her. However he isn't the only man who wants her and another man will do anything to have her. Her father's enemy has to have her one way or another. First a warning about this book. Be prepared to be sitting for a while because you can't put it down. Yep that is my warning. Aria is head strong, isn't one to sit by the sidelines and just wait. She goes into danger and will stop and nothing to find her dad even when she is told not to. She is a great and wonderful character that will intrigue you. However I will say she does take turn later in the book and becomes different but for good reason. I really enjoyed this book so much. Aria doesn't care what others think of her and she shows that by snooping and digging where ever she can and when she can. Adam thinks it will be a simple way to put a stop to her actions but that doesn't happen. These two are a perfect match in every way they just don't see it much for a bit. Aria goes through a horrible time at one part in the book and she fights with everything she has. It really hugely leaves it mark on her. Adam is trying his best to find her and more and more unravels as they hunt for clues. I was surprised a few times in this book and bad to say but I enjoyed that it had it's dark moments and wasn't a fluff book. If you enjoy a story that keeps you turning pages be sure to try this one.

***Received from Tasty Book Tours for an honest review*** I love historical romances. The era, the clothing, the style of speech, the rules. God, I love the rules. Stringent, yes, but the defiance stirred in young women of the time by those rules make for such good stories. Cloaked in Danger serves it up the way I like it. Aria is beautiful and bold, determined and stubborn, and Adam is her perfect match. She defies convention by sneaking around, hunting for clues, doing what she must to find her father. He knows she’s hiding something and will do what he must to find out what it is. There were a few eye-rolling moments when Aria promised Adam one thing and did the opposite. In a typical Regency romance, her behavior would’ve been annoying. For this one, it was well-suited. And one reason more for Adam to pursue Aria for himself. She wasn’t a dull sitting room miss. She was the opposite, so her actions made sense, made her appealing, made her…her. This is a sequel and it’s strongly recommended you read the first one. I didn’t, lol, but fell in love with this book just the same. If you’re looking for a witty and bold and non-cookie cutter Regency era romance, you’ll find it in the pages of Ms. Ruesch’s delightful novel, Cloaked in Danger.

I like the H/h in this story, however I consider this book very lite on romance. I guess for those of us who really like romance stories with romnce scenes have ended. Authors are not writing stories like that anymore.
