Get your passport ready! Cloaked in Fur by T. F. Walsh is taking us to Romania and the Carpathian Mountains, where deep in the woods, a pack of wulfkin live. Nearby, mankind is totally unaware of these shapeshifters’ existence, but something has been maiming and killing people and all evidence leads to some kind of wolf or other large animal. But animal expert, Daciana, knows better, because she is a member of the pack living outside of the pack restrictions in the city. Wulfkin always stick with their own kind, but Daciana is different and now she has fallen head over heels in love with a human, Inspector Connell Lonescu, a detective investigating the brutal murders, many of whom are connected to Daciana. Being a possible suspect could endanger the pack, so Daci must find and stop whoever is doing the killing, because it is not normal, not even by wulfkin standards, and she must do it without revealing who or what she is to Connell. Is that even possible? Must she choose between her pack and the man she loves? Lives are at stake and time is running out in more ways than one for Daciana, as she risks her own life to save those around her. Is Cloaked in Fur just another paranormal romance? Nope. Sure we have the hot human guy, the hot shifter girl, secrets, deceit, life-threatening events, wayward loyalties and love, but there is never a stop in the action and it felt real! Emotions run high, the tension between the two main characters is almost sweetly and desperately heartbreaking. T. F. Walsh has done a marvelous job of painting a fresh face on the genre from that first leap into the story to the last page, her writing is crisp and intense. Ms. Walsh’s ability to make me draw mental images of the backgrounds and walk along with Daciana was amazing. Her characters are well-defined, and fit together like perfect puzzle pieces. The strength of Daciana’s and Connell’s characters was completely believable with their flawed edges. I completely enjoyed this book from start to finish and look forward to more from this author!

Find this review and more at Lusty Penguin Reviews! Debut author TF Walsh writes an action-filled paranormal romance with a compelling mystery in Cloaked in Fur. Setting her novel in Romania, Walsh builds her unique world of moonwulf and wulfkin that live secretly among the humans. Living among the humans for a year, Daciana, “Daci”, enjoys her time before her final transformation to a moonwulf. During this year away from her pack, she falls in love with Inspector Connell Lonescu. Daci loves him so much that she hunts for a potion to prevent her final change. She wants to leave the pack to be with her man. Daci is a compelling character because she struggles with her responsibility to her pack and the need to be with the one she loves. I admired Daci’s tenacity to do whatever she needs to do to be with Connell. But, when mauled bodies are discovered in town, Daci and Connell find themselves working together to figure out what is going on. When Daci discovers that it’s a dracwulf killing people she knows her relationship with Connell is in jeopardy. In an attempt to separate herself from what is going on, Daci lies to Connell and to her pack, putting all of her relationships at risk. As the time draws closer to her final transformation, Daci finds her inner strength to stand up to the pack Alpha, which I just loved about her. Despite everything that happens, when Connell discovers what Daci is, his love is true, and he has no intentions of going anywhere, which endeared his character to me. Along with the romance, Walsh seamlessly blends many plot twists into the story, creating a captivating and page-turning read. In the end, Walsh masterfully ties up the major plot points while leaving enough of an opening to revisit these characters again. Since Daci and Connell are an amazing couple who can take on the world, I certainly hope that Walsh does. I received an eBook copy of the book from the author for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Daciana is a moonwulf that fell in love with a human, Connell.  Humans don’t know wulfkin exist.  It’s punishable by death if you tell a human about your secret wolf nature.  Daciana has been working to find the recipe for an elixir rumored to turn a moonwulf into a human. She’s been so involved in her search that Connell is beginning to question her, he’s worried she’s lying to him.  After searching the pack library one day, Daciana is attacked by a creature she’d only heard of.  A dracwulf.  A hybrid born of a wulfkin and wolf.  A dracwulf is illegal in Daciana’s society.  They must be destroyed or they will become uncontrollable killing machines.  This dracwulf has begun killing.  It’s killing humans Daciana has had contact with.  Can Daciana take out the dracwulf before it targets Connell? Can she keep her secrets from Connell?  Will he still love her if he learns all her secrets? This book was very well written and easy to read.  It was a refreshing take on the werewolf story.  Like every book there were things I loved about it and aspects I hated.  I liked how strong and self-sufficient Daci was.  I liked that she went out on her own and didn’t give in to the pack mentality.  I didn’t like all the drinking that Connell did.  He seemed to always be drowning his sorrows in alcohol.  I definitely found Daci to be the stronger one in the relationship.  I would have liked to get more background on all the characters.  I did feel like I was kind of thrown into the middle of a story.  I don’t want to give away too much.  Overall, I really enjoyed it and recommend it to all werewolf lovers.  4-Bombs

This book was an absolute delight for me to read. From page one you are pulled into a mysterious plot. As each character, no matter big or small, comes into the story- you feel an instant history with. The dialogue is revealing and intriguing throughout, as each person enters and leaves the book. I felt compelled to continue reading, I had to see if Daciana found what she was looking for. Her journey became an emotional one for me, as she progressed through the book.

Disclaimer: The novella was provided to me by InstaFreebie in exchange for an honest review for which I am not being compensated in any way. The novel I purchased at full price after reading the novella. All opinions are fully my own. ~ Judi E. Easley for Blue Cat Review My Review: While these two books can stand on their own, I am reviewing them as one because their stories blend seamlessly. I won't belabor the details of the story since you have the summary of that above for each of the books. Ms. Walsh came up with a wonderful storyline for the novella that was fresh and new. She writes very well, too. In spite of the fact that Daciana could have been discovered at any moment, I was laughing at her trying to get dressed in her office before anyone walked in one her. I could picture the whole scene either watching it or actually doing it. She doesn't just tell you what's happening, she shows you. Such a difference in the enjoyment of a book. Thank heavens she didn't linger at the kill sites. But she made it possible to hear the "click" when Daci and the inspector first locked eyes. They make a great couple. Inspector Connell Lonescu. He's recently divorced, losing his best friend in the process. Daciana, a moon wulf, changing on the full moon. But their relationship is HOT! And once they resolved some of the problems they seemed to be buried in, they actually got time to fall in love. That should stand them in good stead as they deal with the load of troubles coming their way in the future! The novella had its own crime and began their relationship. The first novel rounds out their relationship and has its own crisis. Plus, the pack has problems. It seems to set up Daciana as being in charge of the pack at the end of book one. But a female in charge and with a human boyfriend, how will the pack react? I don't have book two, yet, so I don't know. I did happen to pick up another novella, Cloaked in Christmas, for future reading. This is a series I strongly recommend to any of you who enjoy paranormal. The writing is great and the stories so far seem fresher. And the relationships steamy!

As I was getting ready to write this review I notices on the authors bio that she was from Romania and that would explain why the story was so real to life. I have to say that I loved that it didnt start the same way and in the same place as most books. It was something different that kept me interested in the book. The characters and the story will be one of those that will stick with you and have you doing the one more chapter chant. I couldnt wait to get started on the second book.

This is a great read it is the first book in this series however there is a prequel for the series as well and I do recommend reading that first. It is about how Daci and Connell meet and fall in love. In this book is it almost time for Daci to return to the pack but she doesn't want to. She has other plans. However with all the lies and half-truths she has been telling g Connell it isn't going smoothly. Now there is more trouble in the form of a Dracwolf. Daci has been asked help with the case which cause a bigger rift between her and Connell. Daci feels like she is being torn in two. Connell doesn't understand what has been up With Daci lately. He doesn't to feel like she hiding something from him but he does. Will they be able to work things out? I really liked this book. I feel for Daci. She wants this new life with Connell but she can't just abandon her pack when they need her either. Connell is a great guy and loves Daci so much. The pack members follow their alpha even when they don't agree. Some break rank and help Daci but not without risk and danger. I love shifter books and this one didn't let me down. I am excited to read the next book in this series. Another great job T.F. Walsh. I was given this book in return for an honest review.

There was no easy way out. 10 GOLD MOONS Whatever path came to me carried a price. In my heart, I couldn’t live without Connell. WHAT A FUROCIOUSLY PAWESOME TAIL!! I am blown away at just how FURNOMENAL this story & series are! It is a little darker, but filled with so much of EVERYTHING it is hard to put into words just why I LOVE it so much!! The characters are well developed, multifaceted, but always growing and changing as the story progresses. The storyline itself is actually multiple storylines all interwoven together creating one helluva WULFTACULAR story I cannot put down! And the rare moments when I HAVE to step away, I am still living it inside my mind! I feel so CONSUMED by it! It truly has touched me, reached me, deep down into me, mind, body, spirit and soul. I don't understand the pull, the hold it has over me, except to give credit where credit's due - T.F. Walsh is one ABSO-FURRY-LUTELY FANGTASTIC author with so much talent and a true gift for crafting stories that reach for you, grab a hold of you and NEVER EVER let you go! You can tell from the richness and the depth, the quality of it all, that T.F. has done her research, she has taken the time to build the world, the WHOLE world, the characters, the story lines and plots, and that is what brings the stories to life! I look forward to following her career, watching & reading her books as she grows and evolves, for the rest of my life! Make note now, because I guarantee in no time at all, T.F. Walsh will be at the TOP OF EVERY CHART PAWSSIBLE, and will remain up there book after book, after book! YES! I DO LOVE this book and series THAT much! And you will too! What an absolutely captivating novel.  Walsh has taken the paranormal romance genre and created a unique novel that stands out while still fitting perfectly into the genre.  I loved the change in setting, taking us to Romania and using it to create a setting about which so many of us have no preconceived notions.  Walsh brought it to life for me in a big way, painting it with her words.  The plot was unique.  Walsh never depended on things that came before her, but rather invited readers to join her on a fast paced, unforgettable journey that at times more closely resembled a well written romantic suspense than a paranormal romance.   The realism of Walsh’s characters is one of the things that sets this novel out on its own.  Sure the main character was a shifter, but she was developed in such a way that you could easily believe she lived next door to you.  Everything about her was so lifelike and easy to believe.  The chemistry between the main characters is sweet and unmistakable.   Walsh’s straightforward writing brings this unique perspective to the paranormal romance genre.  It’s a must read for lovers of all things shifter.   Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

Stories combining the Paranormal and Romance are often some of my very favorite reads. When it is an author's debut as well, I cannot wait to get my hands on it. Cloaked in Fur was indeed that trifecta and I LOVED it! Daciana was a moonwulf who found her soul mate in Connell, a human. In an unique twist on the usual shifter story, he was unaware of her were background. Both characters are extremely well written, in a highly detailed manner and they pulled me along, right into the story. Their love story was carefully woven and combined with some lively action and exciting drama and suspense, this was a true 'edge-of-my-seat' page-turner. Be aware that there are a few scenes of graphic violence and a lengthy, highly detailed sex scene, so this is not a book for kids. I loved being mentally transported to the esoteric and mystical lands of Eastern Europe. The fact that Ms. Walsh herself was born in Romania, home to some of my best loved stories, and her lavish use of names, tales and even culture from that part of the world are most certainly added to my love for Cloaked in Fur . I would love for T.F. Walsh to write a prequel, sequel, or just about anything else for that matter. I know that I, for one, would be lining up for a copy! If you love paranormal romance, especially containing werewolves as well as loads of action, adventure, and suspense then check T.F. Walsh and her debut novel, Cloaked in Fur! Rating: 5 STARS! *NOTE: I received this novel in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. All opinions are my own and no further compensation was received.

4 1/2 Stars. Moonwulf, Daciana has fallen in love with a human. She debates leaving her pack-who have been her only family for years for her human lover.  Worse, a rogue werewolf is targeting and kill Daciana's friends-and her human lover, Connell may be next. She must stop the beast and lure Connell, a police inspector, away from danger without revealing her werewolf nature or pack. This is a well-written story with lots of action, suspense, and romance. I love strong heroines and Daciana didn't disappoint. She has her weaknesses that are perfectly balanced with her strengths. The only thing that kept it from a full 5 stars was Connell and Daciana's relationship was already blooming (I would have liked to have seen it earlier on) and I wanted to know more about the other pack members.  If T.F. Walsh writes a prequel - or anything else for that matter- I'll be lining up to grab a copy. I recommend this book to anyone who loves fantasy, paranormal, werewolves, adventure/action, and suspense. I have added T.F. Walsh to my list of favorite authors and encourage you to check out her debut novel.

Reviewed by Jennifer Reinoehl for Readers' Favorite T.F. Walsh’s Cloaked in Fur is an action paranormal book. It is an intense, suspenseful werewolf-style story set in modern Romania and told in first person. Daciana, or Daci as her boyfriend calls her, no longer feels at home with her pack because of the changes in the way their leader is acting. She lives in the city away from her wulfkin (werewolf) family, dreads the nearing Lunar Eutine when she will have to join them, and is seeking a mystical recipe that could help her become a human and allow her to leave them permanently.  Then, she encounters a dracwulf – a forbidden creature created by mating a wulfkin with a natural wolf. She must figure out why this creature is in existence when allowing it to live can mean death for her pack; and why it is suddenly hunting the humans near and dear to her. She also struggles with leading a double life and keeping up with all the lies she has to tell her boyfriend, Connell, to keep him from discovering her true nature. Cloaked in Fur is a page-turner that moves quickly from beginning to end with many heavy action scenes. Once you start reading, catch your breath where you can. The descriptions are realistic and well done. There are scenes of graphic violence and one, long, detailed sex scene, so this one isn’t for kids. Although most of the ends are wrapped up, T.F. Walsh takes a little longer to do it. This makes the conclusion drag a little even though the heavy action is sustained throughout it.

OOOOH, this is a good one! I love werewolves. I always have I always will, and this one gets added to the list. The humans don’t know about wulfkin, who live in their forests. But when something animal and huge starts killing off the people, it’s a race to get it under control. The main character is not only a wulfkin, but she’s in love with a human, so it is fitting for her to help, for both sides, but boy does she have to go through hell on herself to do it. :)   Daciana is our main character. She’s left her pack because of the human she loves. But something is killing not only humans, but her pack mates. She’s definitely a strong character. She’s loyal, and determined, and smart, as she’s also trying to find a way to cure herself so she can be with her human lover. But, just because she left the pack for him doesn’t mean she doesn’t love those she left. Or want anything bad to happen to anyone else. I happen to like her alot. Unfortunately, her life is crazy! There’s some great side characters, but everyone is going to fall for Connell. Yes, he’s human, but he’s pretty awesome. And he’s also strong enough to keep up and put up with Daciana. But he still doesn’t know her biggest secret and it’s causing some major issues. I like his character as well. He’s the knight in shining armor without being supernatural.  I loved the action. I loved the plot twists. I loved the writing. Yep, I pretty much had fun loving this book. I am seriously hoping this is going to be a series, and a decent sized one. This is a great start for a series. I can’t help but want more. And to top it off, we’re set in Romania, in the Carpathian Mountains… Yo vamper fans, that sound familiar? Dracula ring any bells? Seriously, it’s a cool book, trust me. So what are you waiting for? LOL 5 MYSTERIOUSLY WOLFISH PAWS!!!

Cloaked in Fur is a riveting story that draws the reader into a world of shapeshifters, packs, and what line’s they are allowed to cross. When people start getting maimed and killed by what investigator’s believe is a large wolf, animal expert Daciana knows that it is more than a large animal. Daciana is a moonwulf, a werewolf, and although she is no longer apart of her pack, she would do anything to help protect them from discovery. Daciana left the pack because she fell in love with a human, when he is threatened and she must choose between her love for him and her pack, Daciana must make a decision that will change her life irrevocably. This story is captivating and alluring. The way the author weaves myths and legends with today’s forensics and investigative practices is brilliant. From the very start I was hooked. Daciana is such a fierce heroine. Her love for her boyfriend and her loyalty to her pack seems to be a constant struggle for her. She does not regret her decision to leave for love, but even though she exists outside the pack, she has never forgotten her friends and the strength of pack bonds. Fans of paranormal romance and urban fantasy will love Cloaked in Fur. It is a fast paced, action packed story filled with suspense, werewolves, friendship, and love. A must read that you will want to read over and over! I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I just finished reading Cloaked in Fur, and my head is still reeling. Daciana is a moonwulf on her way to becoming a full wulfkin. The problem is that she doesn't want to be either. During her time living in the city, she falls in love with a human inspector named Connell. She is willing to risk it all and even desert her pack to be with him. With only a few days left before her transformation into a full wulfkin, Daciana is faced with many challenges—a killer hybrid wolf is killing off her friends, to the police, she is a suspect in the murders, and the relationship she has built with Connell is on the fence because of her need to keep secrets. There is also a past lover come back to rekindle their romance and an alpha who has absolutely lost his mind. Cloaked in Fur is action-packed. From the very first chapter, I was engulfed in Daciana's world of fierce werewolf creatures and all the ripping, snarling, and clawing that come with it. T.F. Walsh did an excellent job creating the two very different worlds, as well as the struggle Daciana has when choosing between them. I enjoyed the unexpectedness of the story. Romances are known to be in third person with both the male and female perspective. This story was in first person and only in Daciana's voice. Also, usually the story tells how the relationship between the male and female starts, but here, Daciana and Connell's relationship is already established, and we are watching it be tested. I appreciate and respect authors who challenge writing conventions and do something different. The new take on werewolves and the Romania setting is refreshing and new. I do wish the wulf lore was explained more in the beginning of the story because it did get a bit confusing. Also, I did want to see more about the super wulfkin and its powers. It came at such a climatic part and was such an interesting concept, I wanted it to be included more in the final scenes. Maybe it will be included in the following book—all the more reason to keep following this author. If you like romances with action, suspense, and wolf shifters, I highly recommend reading Cloaked in Fur by T.F. Walsh. It will be nothing you expect but everything you need. You won't be able to put it down once you've started.
