Overview

Clockwork by Steven Seaborg

Serial killers and suicide bombers have become accepted as common, everyday occurrences. Something has gone tragically wrong. A handful of people are brought together to fight a manifestation of evil the world has yet to see. One criminal mastermind and his unstoppable machines are only days away from destroying the planet and enslaving the entire human race. Heaven and Hell are no longer places that wait in the afterlife. They are the two futures that are coming for mankind. Two very different worlds will hang in the balance as Good and Evil prepare for the greatest of all battles.

I came up with the idea for this story 12 years before I decided to finally finish and publish it. Clockwork may always remain a controversial book due to its subject matter, but only because it asks you to view religion from a different aspect. I wanted to write a story that had never been done before. The main point that I focused on when this tale first materialized was the abuse that unfortunately exists in much of today's society. I learned first-hand about the pain and suffering of alcoholism because it has run in my family's bloodline for many generations. Clockwork's point of view of child abuse, alcoholism and drug abuse sees these human weaknesses as if they were monsters, growing stronger and more powerful as time passes. I stretched the limits of storytelling with this one and still had fun with it.

I came up with the idea for this story 12 years before I actually finished it and decided to publish it. It will probably remain a controversial book due to the subject matter, but when it first materialized, Clockwork came from an idea and also a problem that unfortunately affects a large number of people in this country everyday. Abuse, or rather the problems that arise from child abuse, alcoholism, and drug abuse. My family was greatly affected by alcoholism, and living through that made me see these human weaknesses as monsters that grow larger and more dangerous as time as we know it passes. Clockwork was born of the idea that if substance and child abuse, combined with evil and wickedness in a family bloodline were left to breed and to grow over a period of several centuries, that it may form into something so big and powerful that nothing will be able to stop it. Nothing but itself.

This was a rollercoaster ride through a junkyard made of severed limbs...I still don't like to be alone in the dark...

Clockwork is a terrifying novel with a supernatural plot, which I love. He pulled me in from page one and gave me goosebumps...This book is a genuine thriller. It gives me nightmares to this day! You can't just read it once.

In the never ending battle between good and evil, the fate of the world will hang in the balance as a group of people fight a criminal genius and his abilty to travel back through time to alter events that will in turn make him Lord of the planet earth. Gone is the once beautiful blue planet, only to be replaced by the world of hell. Heaven and Hell are no longer places reserved for the souls of the dead, they are the two different futures that await mankind. The Bible is a warning; a warning of the horrors that await this world. Only one man can stop the great Dr. Lassarod, and what waits for the genius mad scientist is a fate worse than death. This book blew my mind!
