...and it was, as usual, excellently done. I do hope that there will be more to come in this delightful series.

I absolutely loved it! I was glad to see that Amily has had a thought towards children. I hope that someday, maybe it will be worked out who becomes a Herald that are Amily and Mags decedents.

I loved the other books in this series, but this one was a disappointment. It was flat. The plot seemed contrived, and for a whodunit, you knew who the bad guy was the instant he was introduced, even before his crimes were. And then you spend the rest of the book wondering how the protagonists didn't see it sooner. Characters were introduced, and left unused. Plot elements were introduced seemingly to pad the length of the book, not actually advance the plot. This was not Lakey's best tale.
