Young adult readers will find this love story between a teen girl and a very special love interest to be unique, moving, and fun to read. This is definitely a take on romance I have never encountered before, and a well done story at that. If you like the magical, the inspirational and the romantic, this is a book for you. Also would be a great gift for a young reader.

I cannot sum up this book better than what is already said by the synopsis, so all I can do is offer my humble opinion of the story. It's amazing. The whole concept of this specific guardian form was something that I had to get used to, but once Sterling took on a human form.. it was much easier to adjust. The characters are great. Claire is your typical teenager in the way that she has a typical teenage voice - a little confusing and erratic and sometimes all out irrational, but it is exactly what you would expect from someone her age. I love the interactions between her and Sterling, who is definitely one of those lovable guy's in YA that we love to swoon over. He is definitely a guardian and I think he did his job well, especially when it came to protecting and taking care of Claire. I also have to note that the other characters in the book are just as great - from Claire's friend to Sterling's "sibling" guardians... and even Sterling's ex, who is someone you just love to hate. She does "woman scorned" quite well. This is yet another great book from another great indie author! I'd say this is a definite recommended read to all of my YA paranormal romance lovers out there. Melissa Smith is a wonderful writer and I look forward to more from her in the future.

What if there were special guardians, placed on earth to help people in need? They might not be human. They might have their own rules that guide them. What if a non-human guardian finds he has special feelings for his charge. What if his teenage charge reciprocated. This is their story. Wonderful romance for young people. The teenage angst, the friends, the family, all are embroiled in the tale.

I loved this book, it was so different and refreshing. I saw paranormal romance and thought 'okay, here we go again,' but the description caught me. It was unusual not like a vampire or a demon. The love interests? A guardian, who first surfaces as a cloud. Yes, an invisible cloud. The point of view changes between our cloud guardian Sterling, who changes to a human to accompany his charge's want. Like a guardian angel, or a fairy god mother, he is supposed to be there to make her life easier. However, that's not really what happens. This doesn't turn into a wishing genie, it becomes a romance. That romance leads to trouble, for the both of them. When I reached the end and saw there was another book in the series I about leaped for joy. I can't wait to read Book II when it comes out.:) If you are into opposing viewpoints and men/women doing the polar opposites then coming together, this book might not be for you. If you are looking for a soothing romance, then it probably is. Foul language is rare in this book, and it's a pleasant read that will give you funny tingles.

Cloud Nine deals with the growing relationship between a teenaged girl and her self-appointed spirit guardian, and the many situations she faces as she tries to synch him up into her typical teenager life. These implicit complications include her friends, family and a former boyfriend. Definetively a fine romance to read. The author seems to possess a keen knowledge of the teen mind, which makes her able to create credible teenagers, quite a difficult deed. Earlier on, the writer manages to pull one of the most dangerous stunts in the English language: switching from one character viewpoint to another while still mantaining the first person narrative... and she succeeds. Usually this is certain literary suicide; some readers will find find these non-standard handling of conventions jarring and confusing. But the author apparently thinks 'Damn the torpedoes' and goes full speed ahead, spinning a very charming tale with a lot of bravado. Highly recommended.

Its a great love story that kept my interest and kept me wondering what was going to happen next with Claire and Sterling. This book is well written and I recommend it for anyone who loves romance stories. I look forward to reading more books from this author.

I found this book and am really glad that I picked it up. This is a sweet love story that has a few twists that I have to say lends itself to a great book. I will definitely be getting whatever books follow this one. If you're looking for a sweet romance that everyone can read, then this is a book you should get and curl up with.

These reviewers must be this author's BFFs. The angel vernacular, character development, plot, and editing are all sorely in need of an overhaul. My advice is to dissect this story chapter by chapter and then add some plot twists and history. The romantic scenes were sorta cute, though. Keep at it!
