In about an hour I read the book Coconut Oil for Beginners, and I honestly feel like it was the most productive and beneficial hour spent in a long time.  It turns out that tropical islanders are happier and have healthy tan skin for a reason!  Coconut oil blocks harmful rays from the sun when applied to the skin, and it decreases wrinkles and spots as well as moisturizes better than most products on the shelf.  I also plan to use the recipes for delicious dishes with coconut oil, because it has many health benefits from cognitive repair to weight loss and increased energy.  Virgin coconut oil is antifungal, antibacterial, and antiviral and can be used for deodorant, dandruff relief, skin issues, and it even reduces stress!

Coconut Oil for Beginners is definitely a three-for-one kind of deal. This health, beauty, and hair guide to coconut oil is a great way to start out when you don’t know much about the oil and its benefits. It talks about great ways to revitalize your skin and hair, as well as ways to get your body back into a healthier lifestyle.  Not only does it talk about the benefits of coconut oil, it also gives helpful tips on how to get more exercise into your busy work schedule, as well as a mini lesson in hydrogenated oils and fats, and why they’re not good for you. I recommend this book for people who are looking for a new, healthier diet while still getting to keep some of the foods they love.

To be honest, I came to “Coconut Oil for Beginners” as a skeptic, given the seemingly endless number of benefits claimed by this book and others regarding coconut oil. Well, I am now a convert, in large part due to “COFB” and the explanations and recipes it includes. After reading the book, it seems silly not to follow its advice. I’ve checked independently, and all the claims are legit – not to mention the fact that, without a scientific background, it’s cool to be able to speak intelligently about the differences between saturated fats, know the effects of certain chemicals on the epidermis, and offer tips and recipes on skin treatments (which, I have to say, scores big brownie points with the ladies). A top-notch book for those unfamiliar with coconut oil, and one that’s sure to have new ideas and recipes even for old pros.

This is by far the best coconut oil book currently on the market. With an extensive section discussing the benefits and uses of coconut oil, it is truly a one-stop shop for everything coconut oil related. The book features an informative section discussing how coconut oil can help improve hair and skin, and also features a variety of recipes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A number of beverages are also featured in the recipes section, including smoothies, lattes, and teas, all of which include the use of coconut oil. The authors did an astounding job compiling all of the information and recipes one could ever possibly require regarding coconut oil into one convenient book.

I purchased this book for a holiday gift and enjoyed it so much that I bought a copy for myself! The information is clear and easy to understand. Recipes for beauty and health as well as eats and treats are included. This is a great update to an older resource book that I've used for years.

Coconut Oil for Beginners is a brief, yet comprehensive introduction to the benefits of coconut oil. It has some helpful advice regarding the types of coconut oil to use, such as unrefined, virgin oil versus the hydrogenated coconut oil.  Additionally, the book explains that although coconut oil is a saturated fat, it is not a harmful saturated fat and contains no trans fats.  Consequently, it can safely be included in a number of recipes.

This great intro to using coconut oil is like a sort of desert island must-have with beauty, cooking and health tips all in one. It is so simply laid out that I know I can keep referring to it in a pinch. There are some inventive and yummy ingestible and topical recipes. All in all, this slim volume is a basic but convincing explanation as to why coconut oil should be a household staple.

Coconut oil has arrived! Exactly as the title professes, this comprehensive book is just right for those of us who are interested in knowing all of the benefits of coconut oil and want to know why that’s a good thing (besides that it’s delicious). It tells all, from the history of the nut to easy-to-grasp explanations of its many healthful uses; it includes fun facts, tips, and a how-to purchase guide. The scientific explanations are easy to grasp (such as why it’s a “good fat”); I found them to-the-point, interesting and practical. It has lots of fun and delicious food as well as cosmetic recipes (my favorite). This is a cookbook and instructional guide all in one. I have some coconut oil in my pantry, but I can see now that I have underutilized it! Coconut...who knew?

This book is well informed on the history of coconut oil and the many positive affects it can have on your body when used properly. There are recipes included, a very nice edition, that range from a variety of treatments from skin care to weight loss. Overall the book is very informative and a good starting point for anyone who wants to incorporate coconut oil into their daily lives.

This book is great for anyone who is new to using coconut oil or for someone like me who has been using it for a few years but without knowing much about it. The book includes the history and science of coconut oil as well as health benefits and recipes. There were lots of good recipes that were different styles of food and the other sections were fun and easy to read.
