Leon Wheeler Jr. is a self-proclaimed Boss Player who has dedicated his life to helping others navigate the obstacles that life throws their way. He is a lifelong student with a unique perspective on life gained through personal trial and error. His philosophy, "Teach what you want to learn," drives his mission to become a Master Player.
With 28 years of experience in maneuvering through the streets of Southwest Detroit in the close-knit community of Delray, Leon has faced numerous challenges, including multiple gunshot wounds and a 23-year prison sentence. During his time behind bars, he immersed himself in self-study, devouring hundreds of books on various topics to improve his life. He found particular interest in books on child raising, parenting, and African-American history.
Leon's thirst for knowledge extended to self-help books, which helped him become a better mentor, brother, and friend to all the young men he encountered.
Through sheer determination, Leon taught himself and obtained his GED with the support of others. He went on to attend Wayne County Community College District, where he excelled and earned an Associate of Arts degree, graduating at the top of his classes. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, Leon plans to launch a self-help podcast to share his unique outlook on life and engage in public speaking engagements.
