Overview

The third novel in the DI Sally Parker thriller series from NY Times and USA Today best-selling author M A Comley.

Other books in this series are:
Wrong Place - #1 Women Sleuths
No Hiding Place - #2 Women Sleuths
And Web of Deceit a DI Sally Parker novella - co-authored by Tara Lyons.

DI Sally Parker has been handed a ten-year-old cold case. However, the victim, Aisha Thomas, isn't just a member of the public--she's a serving police officer's wife.

During the original investigation, the suspects disappeared before they could be questioned. Now fresh evidence has been uncovered, proving the two suspects to be innocent. Sally has to start over at the beginning. She uncovers a few surprises that were either overlooked. . . or purposefully ignored by the original investigator.

When the case threatens Sally's fledgling romantic relationship with pathologist Simon Bracknall, she begins to suspect someone is determined to hinder her chance at happiness--as well as solving Aisha's murder.

Is Sally getting close to revealing the killer or has she stumbled across something even more sinister?

"In Cold Case, Comley takes her plucky detective Sally Parker outside of her comfort zone with a decade-old case to solve. Even though the case is cold, the action is still hot. Sally's inter-office romance adds a little spice, as well." Stefanie S., Editor, Red Adept Editing

"When DI Sally Parker and her partner Jack Blackman catch a cold murder case, more than just the victim's past is brought to light. Despite her demanding job, though, Parker still makes time for her family, her beloved dog Dex, and even a little romance." Kim H., Proofreader, Red Adept Editing

A long time fan of the Justice series, when the first Sally Parker novel was released, I knew Lorne now had some serious competition. I loved Sally Parker, her team, her family and everything about the books. Cold Case has quickly moved to the top of my list of favorite reads for 2017. Anyone connected to police work or law enforcement, or even the judicial system knows how difficult it is to go back and reconstruct a case after years have passed. Witnesses have forgotten things. Perhaps evidence has disappeared. And even more distressing, you have to step on the toes of the original investigators sometimes, which creates a tension not only in the case, but with your fellow workers and officers. Handed a ten year old murder case of a fellow officer's wife, with a limited time to solve it, Sally and her team are faced with all the above and more. A fabulous read, that truly reads like true crime and an excellent police procedural. Well developed characters with a complex plot, and "didn't see it coming" ending. Highly recommended.
