Meet the Author

William Butler Yeats was one of the foremost figures of 20th-Century English-language poetry, drama, and literature. Yeats (1865-1939) is best known for his poetry, for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1923, the first Irish writer so honored.

Yeats was born and educated in Dublin, studying poetry in his youth. From an early age he was fascinated by both Irish legends and the occult. Those topics feature in the first phase of his work, which lasted roughly until the turn of the century. His earliest volume of poetry was published in 1889. Yeats was also an important figure in the Irish Literary Revival, and a fervent Irish nationalist as well.

Unfortunately my Nook refuses to read this book...I wish I could "return" it and get my money back.

I too have wasted one dollar and ninety-nine cents American for this dysfunctional mess of thoroughly corrupted data. I, too, have contacted customer service and they, too could not open a copy of the book on a Nook on their end. If you try to let your Nook open the thing & then wait (better set your screen time-out to ten minutes) you may see something. You may get a title page & be able to get to flip thru the first pages in this collection. But then, *your Nook may just shut down the reader program a few seconds later*, when trying to read this corruption of data being sold to the unsuspecting as a collection of [Golden Dawn Member] Wm Butler Yeats' musings...

Book is not formatted for the Nook Color. Called customer service rep and although very helpful, he couldn't get it to work on his side either. We even tried "side downloading" it to no luck. Although they didn't offer to refund my money, I disputed the charge through my Discover Card account and things were taken care of promptly. Just a warning.... this book is stil up on the site and STILL is not formatted yet.
