The book itself might be a little dated as to when it was written, 1994 I believe. But the information is thorough with easy to read and understand chapters with color photos and diagrams for riggings. If you fly fish for Steelhead as I do, the book is helpful in reading water and temperature ranges for Steelhead activity but not for fly patterns, casting, fly selection and such. That said, I still found useful information I can use and it gave me pause to try some different rigs. So as the headline says, definitely one to have on the shelf.
