The book is a rollercoaster of emotion. Oddly enough it causes one to reflect one's life. It makes me wonder how I would have handled some of the situations that Robert the protagonist encountered. The episode where he woke up in the hospital (after his friend Yvonne was kidnapped), reminded me of one of my own experiences, when I had to fight my way back to consciousness after a traumatic event. It deftly illustrates the sentiment that persistence is the key to life. Robert was certainly persistent in striving to make sense of his life and bringing his loved ones together. The story is one of awakening/reawakening, just like the woodstock experience.
