Overview

When love sneaks up on you, shoot for the heart.

Billy Bradford has a secret, and it's bigger than the fact that he's an assassin. When Tucker Hayes, Billy's "straight" best friend, is injured on a mission, Billy acts in haste, kissing Tucker. Shocked by the act, Tucker runs. But desire is stronger than convictions, leading Tucker to hunt down Billy.

The other guys on the ranch are oblivious to Tucker and Billy's actions as they investigate a new target. Grant Stovall is hung up on his ex, but Roger Burk, their new operative, catches his attention and one small touch isn't enough.

Meet the cowboys of Wild Bluff Ranch in the first book of the Colorado Heart Series, Colorado Wild.

I absolutely love Sara York and when I saw this series I had to have it. Grant Stovall was mentioned in the final book of the Texas Soul Series(Texas Legacy), and I was intrigued by him. Not only do we get more on Grant Stovall in this book but we get to meet Nine hot and sexy men that live on a ranch, though they are not really cowboys, they are elite trained assassins. Yes, you heard right! You get not only cowboys and a great ranch story with horses and cows, but ex-military men of all sorts that are in a secret group that take on special assignments to help make the world a better place by taking out some of the evil trash. Awesome premise huh? Grant Stovall is mourning the loss of his lover Craig that up and left the operation and their relationship. He can’t understand what happened it was so sudden. Duff their leader and best friend, tries to tell him that he needs to get over Craig and move on that he won’t be back, but Grant just can’t let go. When a new man Roger comes in Grant finds him-self attracted to a man more than he has anyone in his life, but he still has feelings for Craig and is sure that Craig loved him and will be back so he keeps roger and his attraction at arm’s length. However, Roger is also attracted to Grant, wants to be his friend, help him heal from his heartache, and would like to be so much more, but being new to the group, he has to focus on learning how things are run so he can soon go on a mission himself. Meanwhile, Zander, Marshal and tucker are on a mission and Tucker is lost to them, back at Homebase Billy seems to be taking it hard. What’s going on with Tucker and Billy? Tucker is straight…or at least he thought he was. This is such a great setup for a series. There are so much action and even hotter man-sex. Emotions rise and sparks fly. So grab a copy, whatever your favourite drink and settle in for a really hot, intriguing night! If you like the beauty of Colorado, modern day westerns, Cowboys, assassins, ex-military men, coming out, mystery, intrigue, lots of action and smoking hot man-sex this is definitely for you.

This novel is intense on many different levels.  York combines heart wrenching moments with heart-warming ones to create situations that you can not only imagine but that capture your heart and soul.  She also stacks her story full of a bunch of steamy alpha males who are also cowboys, which doesn’t hurt at all.  York’s descriptions are straightforward and masculine, allowing her readers to see the world through the eyes of her brilliant cast.   I really like how this story doesn’t have a main character per se, but rather a team of individuals who carry the story forward.  There is definitely a couple who stand out but no one is ever overshadowed.  Everyone is quite well developed and easy to picture in real life.  These characters are developed individually and could all hold their own in their own story.  They are the type of individuals that you instinctively want to get to know better.   This was a great story that drew me in and wouldn’t let me go.  I appreciate how this story can definitely be read as a standalone work or as part of this captivating series.  York left me both satisfied and wanting more.  I can’t wait to read more from this talented author.  I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone who enjoys a few alphas who bat for the other team.    Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I received this book from Enticing Journey's Bookshelf in return for a fair and honest review. The start of this book confused me as it didn't seem to be about the men mentioned in the synopsis but as you carry on reading, it all becomes clear. This book doesn't just focus on the main characters mentioned but on the group as a whole, as you learn about who they are and what they do. There was a change in names as well from Bill to Billy. Not much difference, admittedly, but it still jolted for a moment as it was right at the beginning when you are just getting to know the characters and didn't know if these were two different ones, or one and the same! The storyline is a good one and shows promise. The characters could do with a bit more developing and the points of view need to be slowed down some. Sometimes I wasn't sure which one was speaking, or to whom. With a bit of proof-reading and editing, I think this book could shine. As it is, I enjoyed the story and look forward to learning more about the Wild Bluff boys. Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

Sara York’s Colorado Heart series has a great start with Colorado Wild. You meet the Men of Wild Bluff Ranch and find out about their missions. The twist in the Men’s lives has you hooked. You will want to keep reading to be sure they are safe. On to Book2 and more missions with these Men. Thanks Sara York & Good Writing

I quit reading after skimming 15 pages. The story is silly and and the dialogue is laughably bad. No American, cowboy or soldier, has used the word "dreadful" in conversation in 50 years.
