I have a completely different kind of respect for Ann Kullberg than I do for other artistic authors, simply because she is self taught. Page after page of this book, I constantly had to remind myself of that. I've also had no kind of formal art training, which really inspired me flipping through these pages of what I can accomplish. She goes through quite a few mini demos and 2 full portrait demonstrations, all quite thorough. Up to this point, I have only worked with graphite and charcoal, and I'm looking forward to starting with colored pencils. Starting out on a budget shouldn't be a problem, because she only uses Prismacolor colored pencils and Stonehenge paper. Takes a lot of guesswork out of what to start with, unlike some other art instruction authors. If anybody wants to know where to get these materials rather inexpensively, just email me! I wish anyone who's starting out with this medium good luck. Props to Ann K. and keep up the good work! I'll be looking for other titles by her in the future.

I ordered this book on behalf of my husband who is into artwork/coloring. He was happy not only with the service but with the quality of the book.
