About the Author

Jenifer Tull-Gauger is a 7th level black belt with the title of Kyoshi. She started karate in 1999. Early in her training, she began helping in kids' classes. As a leader in the United Ryukyu Kempo Alliance, Jenifer co-heads and teaches all ages' programs at the private dojo she runs with her husband. Several publications, including the Highlights for Children magazine, have published Jenifer's art and writings. She is a long-time member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. She enjoys putting her karate, art and writing passions together in children's picture books.Jenifer loves training in karate because it's interesting and fun, and it helps her in all areas of life. Her favorite thing about being a karate mentor is watching students grow, improve and progress on their own paths. With Dojo Kun Character Books, Jenifer makes the power of the most important teachings of karate accessible to all readers, whether they are martial artists or not.
