I can't believe I paid $7.99 for a novella that was represented as a novel!!! I would never feel that 114 pages was a novel nor would I pay $7.99 for a novella. The book information states 256 pages. I would like to know where the rest of the pages were hidden? I also would like to know how a person retains their job when they don't know the difference from 114 and 256. I feel very disappointed in the publisher and Barnes and Noble!! I would like my money refunded but that will never happen! The novella was short, the content was not up to the authors usual standards. It also was a Christmas story in June? If you want to read the story I suggest the library.

I really enjoyed the 1st 3 books and was very excited to see this 4th one. I was very disappointed in how short it was (125 pages) and it was just a happy family Christmas get together with a little bit of good news. No plot at all. Save your money!!! Not worth 7.99...sorry I bought it....

Maya is one of my top four authors. This book was not up to her usual standards. It was medicore, at best. At $7.99, you get 112 pages. I felt ripped off. Save your money, this book really was not worth the time or money.

Should have given a page count. I was only 126 pages. I loved the other books and had looked forward to this one. I could not believe how short it was ansd it leaves you hanging at the end. The whole book felt rushed and disjointed, like an afterthought. I am disappointed in this one and would not recommend.

The first disappointment was discovering the book only has 145 pages and the story doesn't start til page 12 and it ends on page 125. I enjoyed the updates on the lives of the major characters, but there was way too much syrupy filler talking about how close they all are as a family and how much they love each other. It's fine to hear that several times, but it was mentioned TOO MANY times. I read this book in two hours and it was like wading through maple syrup.

Maya Banks is one of my favorite authors, and enjoyed the first 3 books in this series. But was really disappointed in this book.Seriously ,don't know why she bothered writing it.It's very short, and revolves around the families getting together for Christmas. There is just no meat to the story. That's 7.99 that I will never get back.

I love the Maya Banks books. I looked forward to this one, but was disappointed in it. the story didn't flow well and was choppy. The book is about 127 pages long.

I loved the first three books, the risque plot lines were so exciting! this, was nothing like that. It was 125 pages that all took place over maybe 2 weeks. The story was disjointed, and attempted to cover all 3 distinctions of the Colter family, without giving us anything truly juicy about any aspect of the family. It all centers around Christmas, but is lacking so much. it seems rushed, unemotional and left me angry that I had wasted the money and hour and a half that it took to read. Library, or not at all, if you don't want the Colter family to forever seem slightly lame.

I have read and enjoyed Maya Banks' stories, including several books in the Colter series. But I was really disappointed to see the 12 page sample melt away like a snowman in the sun. Page after page of book promos and blurbs filled all 12 pages, so 12,11,10,9, etc. All the way to 3,2,1--and the 12 page sample ended before the first page of chapter one was revealed. SOMEONE PLEASE NOTICE THIS PROBLEM AND FIX IT BEFORE ANOTHER BANKS FAN, like me, GOES TO ANOTHER AUTHOR after being robbed of the entire 12 page sample.

Colters Promise is a good book for catching up with the Colters. It also introduced Max's sister Lauren. This is not a stand alone novel.
