Comanche Evans lives with her widowed mother and 2 sisters in 1925 Colorado Springs during the winter, but during the summer she and her family go up to the mountains and their family homestead to work all summer at proving up the land. In town they are trapped by poverty but on the ranch, they have ultimate freedom. It is hard work for such a little girl but adventures are around every corner, along with a little danger. During it all, Comanche learns the importance of family, love, loyalty and having something to call your own.

About the Author
Jacqline Irwin grew up traveling and hearing stories about her great-grandmother and her homestead. In 2013, she decided to put the stories in print and took a trip to Colorado to see the original homestead. Inspired, she decided to write the Comanche series and is currently working on an adult fiction about her great-grandparents. Jacqline lives and writes in Olympia, Washington.
