Norman Leff is probably one of the most knowledgeable martial arts instructors in the world today. He started training as a teenager, more than 50 years ago, and rapidly attained proficiency in several systems.
While working as an English language instructor in South America, Norman met a man named Kenji Tanaka. Tanaka, a former Japanese Imperial Marine, was well versed in the aspects of jiu-jitsu not conventionally taught to the public, even in Japan! For several years Norman trained under Tanaka-sensei, and today he holds the rank of headmaster in this rare and dynamic system of jiu-jitsu.
After his return to the U.S., Norman worked for many years as a bouncer in New York. As a bouncer he often encountered situations where drunken or rowdy patrons were intent on hurting him; however, Norman had the responsibility of subduing his attackers without injuring them. In this environment, Norman learned two things: First, that his techniques were extremely effective; second, that true self-defense doesn't mean winning the fight, it means stopping the confrontation before it escalates into a fight!
Now, Norman Leff is ready to share over 50 years of knowledge and experience with you!
