Breanna Skatt has been on her own since she left home to go to college and has worked hard to become a successful lawyer until it all comes crashing down when she catches her husband cheating in his office with her assistant. With nowhere else to go, Bre retreats to her hometown, just in time for her niece's wedding, where she is forced to face her past, deal with some ugly truths, and ugly relationships. They say that no matter what, your family will always be there for you, but we can't forget that just because they're blood doesn't mean they'll always do or want what's best for you. Kerr does a good job letting you experience the joys and stresses of family and sisterhood and reminds you that more often than not, you always have a place back home where you will always belong. I cannot wait to see what happens next for the Skatt sisters in the next installment of Kerr's book, Hanging On. Disclosure: At my request, I have received an advance copy of this book for review purposes. I am not being financially compensated for this post, all opinions expressed are my own honest opinion.

I finished reading Coming Home this morning and have to say that my biggest disappointment was that the book was over! I simply loved this book--from the writing, to the characters, to the fighting to the love! The book was easy to read, the topics flowed---and I simply did not wish to put it down! Being an only child it was fun to see how underneath all of the fighting and the disagreements the girls were sisters first and foremost! Holly Kerr has done a beautiful job of crafting a family with real relationships--and an absolute delight to read. Thank you for allowing me to read this title prior to publication.

So whoever said coming home can't be a blessing in disguise? In Coming Home, author Holly Kerr weaves an enjoyable story that follows the family drama and trials and tribulations of five sisters, and how after a tragedy strikes, it brings them back together. Set in the Canadian small town of Hill n' Valley, the reader is easily drawn into the story that is mainly surrounded around the family dynamics of three of the sisters: Brenna, Maggie, and Cat. Their family has had a difficult time with the death of their mother and disappearance of their father, and when you add in the tension, drama, strong personalities and sisterly squabbles, it's not always easy to maintain a strong family bond. But when tragedy strikes and their dad comes back home, it's time for the sisters to resolve their issues and get back to being a family. Coming Home is an engaging story that has a realistic feel for life in a small town and the real life issues that occurs within a family. There is a nice mixture of drama and humor interwoven within the story, it is easy to follow along as the sisters work out the issues that has permeated through their family dynamic for a long time. No family is perfect, but when times of trouble and tragedy come along, it is heartwarming to see how the issues and personalities can be put aside and bring a family back together again, strengthening their family bond. Coming Home is an enjoyable women's fiction novel about sisterly relationships that will give you a warm fuzzy feeling and will leave a smile on your face.

What a heart warming book this turned out to be! When Brenna Ebans comes home after being away for more years then she can count she is scared. But having just found her husband with her legal assistant she just wants to hide and maybe start over. Brenna is not sure how her three sisters are going to react! Cat the youngest and the one who Brenna always fought with lives in the family home with her dogs and cats-and the ghost of their Mom who died when they were young. Her Dad had left the five (yes there is another one) with their Mom years before-never to return. It was Maggie, the oldest, who was left to care for all the girls. That they were all left emotionally scared in one form or another goes without saying. Things get off to a rather bad start but actually I can almost see it all happening because certain people forgot to tell other certain people what was now happening! Being a small town gossip is prevalent and the girls have been creating gossip most of their lives so nothing new there. It isn't until the end that you see how all the sisters (minus one) come together as family should! This is definitely a 5 Star book if ever I've read one--I was left with a good, warm and fuzzy feeling as I read the last words.
