About the Author

Lauren Davis has been Senior Editor at Eye On Education since May 2011 and blogs frequently on Eye On Education's blog. Recently, Lauren was one of three judges for Education World's Community Lesson Plan Contest. Previously, Lauren served as Senior Editor of Weekly Reader's Current Events, a classroom news magazine for students in grades 6-12. She also spent five years as Director of Language Arts at Amsco School Publications, a publisher of workbooks and other resources for secondary students. Lauren began her career in the classroom. She taught sixth-grade ELA in Westchester, NY, and she also taught 7th and 11th grade English in New York City. She is passionate about engaging students in learning.
