I am a health nut, so I have been buying this book for the last 10 years. I have found it to be very informative, but I did notice that in this edition a lot of the fast foods and restaurants have been ommitted. I eat out weekly, so I believe that this is a very important missing piece, and the the writers should really consider adding them back in.

I like this book for the information regarding foods that you would find in any food counter, but also the foods that we eat that are not listed in a food counter like organic and vegetarian items. The list of restaurant chains and the food that is on the menu listing the Carbs , Fiber and fat content as well as Sodium. The fact that the book shows you how to figure how many grams of carbs that you should eat a day. This way diabetics would be able to make better choices.

After looking through the multitude of nutrition information books, I settled on this one, and I haven't needed another one since. It's a great, comprehensive diet information book. I love that it includes brand products as well as just generic information, and that it has fast food/takeout listings in the back. It's organized very well, but sometimes you have to search a little to find exactly what you're looking for, which is to be expected in a book with this much information. I gave it four stars instead of five just because I wish there were more restaurants listed at the end, but all in all a great book.
