I loved to watch anime and read manga on a daily bases. I was in sixth grade (sophmore in high school now) when I drew characters from the shows I watched. It's when I came across this book when I gather all of my inspiration to draw on my own. I had a complete step-by-step layout on the manga drawing basics. I art and humor used in the book keeps me motivated on becoming a mangaka myself. I loved my purchase!!

I learned more from online tutorials. This book doesn't do a great job of explaining things thoroughly and often leaves the reader hanging. It isn't in-depth either. The style of drawing doesn't look like your typical anime/manga drawings. Stay away if you are looking for anatomy because it doesn't explain in detail how to draw arms, etc. You are better off buying another book.

it was pretty good it had lots and lots of ideas but i think they shouldve added more to certain sections and they shouldnt repeat over and over they should have more facial expressions mor then just trees and more explaining but if your good at looking at pictures and figuring out then this book shouldnt be a problem. Helps with shading i think its recomended along with other books -Manny ^^
