The present volume, the ninth in the series, continues De Gruyter Mouton's project of completing Roman Jakobson's Selected Writings. It covers the period between 1916 and 1943, offering texts that have not been reprinted since their original appearance. The range of genres is considerable - linguistic and literary studies are flanked by reviews, conference reports, obituaries, and encyclopedia entries, all providing a fresh insight into the depth and diversity of Jakobson's work.
