I purchased this book two months ago and currently on Chapter 14. Needless to say, I couldn't put it down. Not only is it interesting to finally know what those who would never assist me in advancing my career in IT, this book empowered to become a much needed addition to the IT industry. Trust me, I will pass the test with flying colors and have valuable knowledge to write my own ticket. The only disappointment is the lack of the digital edition included with the CD ROM. That's the only reason I gave it a rating of 4 Stars. A word of warning: if you have no networking experience, it may confuse you a bit. Get your Network+ then tackle this stuff. Mr. Dulaney wrote this book along with others with clear explanation as to what your role will be as a Security Administrator. Don't blow it by not having the basics in Networking. Well, what are you waiting for?

I have read some other texts for the CISSP. This one covered much of the same material minus some information specific for the CISSP. I enjoyed the way it was written, very logical and calculated highlighting many of the points that will be on the exam. The little tidbits of humor helped break up the dry chapters. As soon as I go over the chapters I know were not that exciting and I know I am weak on I will take the test. I have SharePoint 2010 and 2007 certs. as well as MCSD and I do feel prepared for this one.

The book is well written and ahead of its time in comparison to their other book. It meet the global standard of norm. Its about time, but it has one hangup there no ebook so if you lost the hard copy your screw. You can re-buy the same book twice in digital format so in essence to have a completed copy of this book you have to purchase it twice. That sucks.
