About the Author

After completing a management career in San Antonio, Nancy has pursued her interest in genealogy and hereditary patriotic organizations. She is the current General Genealogist General for The National Huguenot Society, and served as its past Registrar General. She is President of The Huguenot Society of Texas, and is a Past President of the Texas State Genealogical Society. She belongs to numerous lineage and patriotic organizations.

Born in Chicago, Jeannine was raised in Hinsdale, Illinois. She earned her B.A., cum laude, from Miami University (OH)--Spanish and French majors, with minors in English and history, and earned M.A. + doctoral hours at Indiana University, where she was a teaching assistant. After teaching Spanish at North Park University (Chicago) and Elmhurst (IL) College for several years, Jeannine pursued her growing interest in genealogy and reading, and has proven her lineage to join more than thirty hereditary and patriotic societies. She has served many of them, as registrar and/or genealogist and in other offices, including the national presidencies of three of them.

A professional liability defense litigator and insurance claims coverage counsel, Janice has expanded her horizons to include publishing and artistic ventures. Aspiring to improve the lives of others through cultural means, she enjoys history, politics, fine art, and travel, and has several projects under way. She is currently an Honorary President General for The National Huguenot Society, and the Editor of its magazine, The Cross of Languedoc. In previous years, she served in various other leadership positions for NHS, including Counselor General and President General. She is also a member of another hereditary patriotic organization, the Daughters of the American Revolution.
