About the Author

N.M.P. Verma is a Professor of Economics at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow. He specialises as a development economist with the focus on labour, marginalised groups and environment. He has authored many books and extensively contributed papers in professional journals of national and international repute. He has discharged administrative duties as the Head, Department of Economics, Dean, School for Ambedkar Studies, Dean of Students' Welfare, and also officiated as Registrar and Vice Chancellor of the University. He is also the recipient of "Rajiv Gandhi Excellence Award", 'Bharat Jyoti' Award and 'Best Citizens of India' Award.
