About the Author

My name is Wilkenson Pierre. I was born and raised in a small town in a small third-world country. I grew up in Haiti. From small town to small cities, I've seen pain and despair hunger and strife. Being born in the late 70's and raised in the 80's in Haiti was not easy.

In 1999 I had received my residential green card to live in United States through the aide and countless sacrifice of my loving father. From that time, I went to the Irvington High adult School to learn English as well as to get my diploma. After high school, I went to New Jersey City University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business administration with a specialization in International Business and Marketing. I was always in love with poetry, but it was my college years when my love affair flourished into an outlet of passion.

As a youngster I always thrived and respected positions of power and leadership, which is why I pursued and now have the honor of working for one of the most respected of law enforcement branches in America, proudly wearing the uniform of (NYPD). The many challenges I personally have endured; the pain I've bared witness to while maintaining the hopes of succeeding have really made me realize how far someone can push himself or herself if you have a focused mind.

I endure a number of barricades & destruction in life, both as a spectator and a participant. This book is an exploration of mind, the ills of society; the depths of reality and the limits of my imagination by way of poetry.

I think you can see that my life have been based on hard work, determination to overcome and education. I have cultivated a habit of writing not only what hurt and also liberally, by understanding that poetry is a pleasure. And these values are now a unique force in expressing my emotion through poetry. It is these principles that I believe can have the greatest effect on someone's life successes. It's my personal goals that have driven me to want to excel in all that I do.

My life so far is comprised of a wonderful family, great friends, and a sincere dedication to my family, education and work.

My motto is I try to be a good role model for my families along with others I come into contact with.
