For centuries the world has been plagued by immortals, a supernatural race of men and women who forfeited their souls for power and conquest. There is only one person in the world able to stop them. The only problem is, she had no idea.
Ali O’Conohagn is a headstrong young woman, blissfully oblivious to the supernatural dangers that have plagued Earth for centuries and the preternatural warriors who want her dead. In the blink of an eye, her world is torn out of orbit when she finds herself face to face with one such warrior, Ronan.

Thrust into a world she never dreamed existed, Ali learns that she has been chosen for something far greater then she could ever have imagined. She is an Animus Patronus, part of an ancient bloodline born to rid the world of these soulless killing machines. But there is one man who stands between her and certain death.

Enter the mysterious Traecyn Broadie, whose arrogance and masculinity fascinates yet aggravates her to no end. He appears to be saving her life, but there is something seductively dangerous in his eyes, darkness within him that she cannot understand. As she delves into the mysteries that surround her elusive protector, Ali learns that there is more to him than meets the eye. She must come to terms with his dark past and decide if their love is true or merely a mystic Convergence.

Reviewed by Sylvia Heslin for Readers Favorite One fateful cold and rainy afternoon, eighteen year old Ali O’Canohagn’s life was altered by fate. Never in a million years would Ali have dreamed or believed that just a simple errand for her mother would thrust her into a world that she didn’t think was even plausible. After being attacked by a powerful malevolent immortal named Ronan, Ali is abducted by another frightening but very handsome stranger named Traecyn Broadie. Ali's world is turned upside down as she plays a game of cat and mouse to stay alive, and unwittingly, finds herself forging a bond with Broadie and falling in love. Her life is now a tangled web of lies, deceit, and old ancestral secrets. Ali O’Conohagn must accept her fate and destiny as war looms between the immortals. After being told that she is the last one in the Kerkinson line with enough strength to help rid their world of the evil malevolent immortals that will stop at nothing to obtain absolute power, Ali must risk everything to help balance the forces of the immortals. I enjoyed reading Kayci Reid’s book "Convergence". The storyline had just enough conflict, deceit and intrigue. I felt that her characters were all very believable as well as multifaceted. I liked how Kaycie Reid had her characters playing off one another with all of their secrets and lies, and that in turn led to the ultimate betrayal. The plot was well-developed, and the writing style made the story even more interesting and a lot of fun to read.

I think I may have squealed with pure joy when I received my copy of Convergence. I had ordered one of the advanced copies and it felt like I had waited forever for it to come. I absolutely fell in love with this book. I truly loved everything about it. I cannot even describe how excited I was to start reading Convergence. Every so often, a book comes along and it’s everything you imagine a great fiction should be. It evokes the tremendous joy of just being able to read, to immerse yourself in a book so fully, and to jump into a journey where every sense in your body is heightened and your mind stimulated. Then the last page is turned, you sigh with sadness since you know you will not be able to find another book like this for a long, long time. You just want to stay in your room, in the fantasy and never leave. Kayci Reid has painted a portrait of detailed description, fascinating and an emotional story that becomes powerfully moving page-after-page. Brilliant and intriguing, the paranormal fantasy aspect is everything I love in a fantasy novel, and the romance is heartfelt. Convergence is a masterpiece of blending paranormal fantasy and romance all into one seamless being. So many worthy quotes that sent my blood singing and heart soaring. I truly wouldn't have time to type them all down or sadly, to even remember them all, but I felt the need to share just one of my favourites “When I was in Greece, back in the ancient times, the people believed their ancestors all had four arms, four legs and a single head with two faces. It was believed that fearing their power, Zeus sent lightning bolts down from heaven, striking them in two. Since that day, it is said that we are doomed to walk the earth, searching for the one who completes us, the one who is our soul mate.” “Each of us were gifted the capacity to love many times in our lives. Some have many loves, others have a few, but in the end, we are all just searching for our soul mate.” Convergence awakens in you that dream of your first true love. It has an assurance and truth about it that make you believe it is truly possible, and your heart yearns for the love Ali and Broadie share. There is so much going on in this book, the writing is beautiful. The descriptions of the people, clothing and setting are wonderfully done. You feel as if you are there with them experiencing it too. Kayci really brings it all to life in a way that other authors can't. She makes it all feel so real and tangible. I truly look forward to the next book. I know it too will be truly wonderful and even better than her first as this talented young author spreads her wings and soars to her full potential!! Very Highly Recommended!
