Fictional stories in this book are set in the bar of a western Idaho town where a broad cross section of conservatives, liberals, and moderates live together in restless harmony. Several chapters are based on conversations heard in bars, coffee shops and restaurants. Others are included because they may be of interest to readers. Conversations in the bar include discussions of Intelligent Design, Prejudice, Gays, Immigration, Hells Canyon, Organic Food, Abortion, Divorce, Alcoholics, Pornography, Adultery, Sleeping with Wolves, and more than twenty others. Many teachers and parents tell us what to think and not how to think. Data and logic too often are overlooked in our search for simple answers to serious social and science questions. Read the conversations between bartender Frank and his customers, and then decide whether or not they include some of the answers. You won't agree with every opinion, and that is the major reason why this book was written.
