About the Author

Martín Paredes is a citizen of México who currently resides in the United States. Martín witnessed the evolution of the Mexican cartels in Guadalajara, Cd. Juárez and even in the U.S. over the years. In his youth, news reports and cartel activities he witnessed first-hand piqued his interest about the drug trade problem. As a result, Martín started collecting research material to better understand the problem.

Martín makes his living from the technology sector and dabbles in history and research. Martín publishes a daily commentary blog at https://epn.xyz writing about border corruption, immigration, the drug trade and other contemporary issues. Martín also publishes a weekly podcast, The Border Mic (http://bordermic.com) where he talks about border issues from his first-hand experience.

Martín is currently finishing the Last Narco, a look into the rise and fall of the major Mexican drug cartels culminating with the trial of El Chapo. The Last Narco is expected in 2019.
