Conviction (The Salvation Series Book 4) by Corinne Michaels

(Book 2 of 2 in the Consolation Duet)

I fell in love with Liam only to be left shattered into a million pieces. Again. The idea of being without him cripples me but the reality is, he's gone.

He doesn't understand and I can't make him.

If only he'd see the conviction behind my words--then he'd still be here.

Corinne Michaels is the New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Bestselling author of The Salvation Series (Beloved, Beholden, Consolation, Conviction & Defenseless) and Say You'll Stay. She's an emotional, witty, sarcastic, and fun loving mom of two beautiful children. Corinne is happily married to the man of her dreams and is a former Navy wife. After spending months away from her husband while he was deployed, reading and writing was her escape from the loneliness.
Both her maternal and paternal grandmothers were librarians, which only intensified her love of reading. After years of writing short stories, she couldn't ignore the call to finish her debut novel, Beloved. Her alpha heroes are broken, beautiful, and will steal your heart.

The minute I finished Consolation, I jumped right into Conviction. I could not wait to find out what happens between Liam and Natalie. Conviction is the conclusion to this duet and should be read after Consolation. The book picks up right where the first left off and let's just say the emotions are running extremely high for all the characters. A good portion of the book is bittersweet, as Natalie and Liam adjust and cope with the realities they face. Nothing is easy and there is heartbreak along the way, but I loved that their connection and feelings never faltered. I apologize for the vagueness of this review, but I really don't want to spoil anything for anyone. This is an emotional book that deals with life, death, grief, forgiveness, love, and what it means to be a family. The writing is poignant and moving throughout and will have you crying one minute and laughing the next. Although the duet could have been consolidated into one longer book, I think it was important to give all the relationships time to grow, mature, and heal. I really enjoyed taking this journey with Liam and Natalie and the last part of the book left my heart full and happy. Having Liam's POV for the epilogue was the icing on the cake. He's just as deliciously sexy and hilarious in this book as he was in Consolation. Swoon indeed ;) I loved this duet and this really was the perfect ending. It's not the true end though, since there is one more book in the series about Mark called Defenseless, and all the characters from the previous books appear. I truly enjoyed this love story and I can't wait to read more books by this author!

Absolutely breathtaking beautiful!!! What a ride...Bravo Corinne Michaels Bravo!! I just can't express how much these two books have impacted me. I have never felt so much emotions while reading in my life. Corinne Michaels intertwined a beautiful, heartbreaking story into one of hope and courage. Phenomenal!!! I think Corrine did a amazing job with their story and how she tied everything together. She could have taken this story in so many directions, but the one she chose I felt was perfect. I thought about how I would react to a situation like this and I think I would have taken the same path. There are two types of pain...One that hurts and the other that changes you. I felt this saying was right up Natalie's alley. It fit her perfectly. I felt Natalie was so much stronger in this book. She knew what she wanted and was determined to get what she wanted...to prove she knew what was best. I saw how much she had changed and thought she handled the situation perfectly. I was rooting for her through this whole series and she didn't disappoint me. I respected her truthfulness, strength and her determination. She was the perfect heroine. I adored her! Without going into to much detail, this book will stay with you for a long time. I had a major book hangover with Consolation and also with Conviction. It's emotion invoking and mesmerizing....it never disappoints. Corinne does a remarkable job with this story. She gave me goosebumps, made me sob and fall deeply in love with her characters. She will captivate you with this story of true love and finding their own true happiness. I could not put this down and I literally had a smile with tears in my eyes at the end....superb! One of my best reads ever and as I said will stay with me forever! 5 Plus Stars is not enough for this book or this series! I highly recommend this series and she is definitely one of my top authors!

A Review of Conviction by Corinne Michaels Fighting for love - 5+++++ stars The conclusion of the Consolation Duet is just as AMAZING as the first book in the series. The first book dealt with Aaron's death and Natalie doing her best to live life without him to finally falling in love with their best friend. Liam came back to Virginia when he was transferred to Aaron's old team and he wanted to help Natalie take care of all the things that needed to be done when a military spouse has passed. He pulled her out of the depression she was existing with and helped her realize that she still had a lot to live for. Especially her baby girl. He taught her how to laugh again and to see the good in life. Although both of them tried to ignore it, their friendship became even stronger until they both admited that they loved each other. Just as everything was falling in place for them, Liam has to go on a special mission, which causes her to worry constantly, but when he returns, he brings her something she never expected — her husband. This second book deals with all the fallout from being happy that Aaron is alive to realizing that she will have to hurt him even more when she chooses Liam. The last year without him gave her time and space to really look at their marriage and to see the problems that they were avoiding. There was sooooo much heart break in both of these books, but also soooo much love. The scenes with Liam's Mom broke my heart and in a way I truly felt for Aaron. Yes, he made mistakes — huge ones, but he is only human. I hope that he gets his own HEA somewhere down the line. Make sure you have a box of tissues handy, you will need them. **Honest review voluntarily provided from a Complimentary Copy**

This book was like eating fast food.. empty , fast, cheap, and left wishing I had known better than to try in the first place. I encourage you to keep searching for a real novel. Corrine's romantic notion of Navy Seals is immature and eye rolling to anyone who ever spent time near military men.
