The anticipation for this book was overwhelming for me. I fell in love with Natalie's story in Consolation and craved the conclusion I know I would find in Conviction. To say I was overwhelmed by the beauty of this book is an understatement. Corinne Michaels has once again proven she is an incredible writer who delivers exactly what the readers desire. The author is so well versed in the military life that her ability to convey the absolute joy and horror Natalie faced at finding her presumed-dead husband, Aaron, alive felt completely viable. This could definitely happen in real life and I found myself completely consumed with how Natalie could possibly be able to reconcile her life now that she had fallen in love with Aaron's best friend Liam Dempsey. This book covers the agonizing journey she must now take in trying to come to the right decision that is both right for her heart and for her daughter. But it never felt overdone or redundant or superficial. It is a powerful story of one woman's fight to get the happy ending she both craves and deserves. What I loved the most was Natalie's drive. Never does she back down or run away like so many other heroines I've read before in her situation. This woman knows what she wants and is not afraid to make it happen. Not wanting to hurt either Aaron or Liam, we are witness to the compassion and sensibility Natalie encompasses in order to realize the dreams she so desperately doesn't want to give up. Watching her juggle a myriad of conflicting emotions, wanting to do right by everyone involved and not losing herself or her beloved daughter, Aara, in the process was quite the feat. To the Author's credit, this rollercoaster of heartbreak was handled with true grace. I loved the way the story progressed and the heroine's ability to handle such conflict when she didn't know at times where to turn. The secondary characters are the perfect compliment to this book. The love each of the guys have for Natalie, Liam and Aaron, warmed my heart. The loyalty that is on constant display was a joy to read. Reanell is the friend we all wish we had to lean on. And Mark stands out for me as the big brother we all want by our side when times get tough. I would be remiss if I didn't at least express my feelings about Liam. There aren't enough words for this man. This selfless, caring, compassion and sexy man who would move mountains and step aside if it would make Natalie happy. How he loves Aara as his own, how conflicted he is yet prays he'll get the life he never knew he wanted but is now desperate for. I will only say that my passion for him grew by leaps and bounds in this book and he is definitely a book boyfriend I won't soon forget. The author's writing has been taken to a higher level with this series. Her capacity to convey tender moments, passionate nights, all-consuming heartbreak and even lighthearted exchanges all in one story is not an easy task. But she wrote a beautiful tale that at times took my breath away. I didn't want it to end simply because I was enjoying it that much, despite all the pain. I will only say this: I strongly suggest you read Consolation first, then dive right into Conviction. This is a series that happily grabbed onto my heart and didn't let go until that very last page was read. And even now, I'm not quite sure I'm over this story. A reread is definitely in order! You will devour it just like I did. Don't say I didn't warn you because yeah, it's that good.  An ARC was graciously provided by the author.

This book was read immediately after finishing the first one, and I don't think a cliffhanger has ever left me on the edge as much as Consolation's. Conviction picks up right where we left our characters, left to deal with the fallout. Liam, being loyal, takes a step back so Natalie can decide what's in her heart. Being in the position she is, I must say she handled it way better than most women would. Once she gets through to Liam that she knows what she wants, the book takes on a whole different feel. She has to deal with old fears and feelings, only to be reminded that sometimes life cuts you a break or two.

They story line was very good. The nasty language was a huge turn off. Hated that. The ending was the thing that really upset me. There was NO ending, Buy the next book. GRRRRRRRRRR

A Review of Conviction by Corinne Michaels Fighting for love - 5+++++ stars The conclusion of the Consolation Duet is just as AMAZING as the first book in the series. The first book dealt with Aaron's death and Natalie doing her best to live life without him to finally falling in love with their best friend. Liam came back to Virginia when he was transferred to Aaron's old team and he wanted to help Natalie take care of all the things that needed to be done when a military spouse has passed. He pulled her out of the depression she was existing with and helped her realize that she still had a lot to live for. Especially her baby girl. He taught her how to laugh again and to see the good in life. Although both of them tried to ignore it, their friendship became even stronger until they both admited that they loved each other. Just as everything was falling in place for them, Liam has to go on a special mission, which causes her to worry constantly, but when he returns, he brings her something she never expected — her husband. This second book deals with all the fallout from being happy that Aaron is alive to realizing that she will have to hurt him even more when she chooses Liam. The last year without him gave her time and space to really look at their marriage and to see the problems that they were avoiding. There was sooooo much heart break in both of these books, but also soooo much love. The scenes with Liam's Mom broke my heart and in a way I truly felt for Aaron. Yes, he made mistakes — huge ones, but he is only human. I hope that he gets his own HEA somewhere down the line. Make sure you have a box of tissues handy, you will need them. **Honest review voluntarily provided from a Complimentary Copy**

So many feels for this one, but happy to report there isn't as much angst as I was expecting. Natalie made a relatively clean break if in her heart. She knew Liam was her future and Aaron was her past, but her present was messy. Aaron wouldn't give up even if Natalie told him countless times - this conversation got a little repetitive, but her marriage made for some awkward and uncomfortable occasions as she and Liam continued their relationship. The book does have an HEA but I won't spoil everything else that happens.

I truly couldn't put this book down. When I did, I thought about it and knew part of what would happen but had to read it for myself! Liam is wonderful, steamy sex and a great love story. I will be waiting for more books by Corinne Michaels.

After reading Consolation, I immediately read Conviction! What a roller-coaster ride it was...but it was absolutely the perfect ending. With the ending of Consolation you have no idea what is going to happen next. At times you find yourself wondering what more could possibly happen...then something does happen! You will be taken on a journey that will bring tears, sadness, laughter, joy and in the end contentment. You will fall more in love with the characters, especially Liam. The second book is as good, if not better than the first one! I am now going to read Corinne Michaels Belonging Duet because I just can't get enough of her writing! Thank you Aestas Book Blog for recommending this amazing duet! It is going on the 2015 Favorite List!

It was a good ending, but not 5 stars for me! I enjoyed the main character Liam, but Lee grated on my nerves a lot! All in all, it was an HEA and enjoyable.

After reading Consolation, and having been left breathless and slightly broken hearted, I wasn't sure how to mentally prepare for this book. I finally decided to let my need for finding out Liam's fate win me over and I blindly dived in, knowing that I needed to be prepared for one hell of a emotional roller coaster. All the while having hope that Liam would get the happy ending he deserved. I knew once I started reading this book lastnight that I would not be able to just stop and go to sleep, so I pulled a late nighter and finished it one sitting. It had me on the brink of tears the whole way through and had be holding my breath a few times too. It was definitely worth losing sleep over, and I am kicking myself for waiting two weeks to finally read it. While I won't give away any spoilers I will just say the outcome was truly unexpected and I want to encourage everyone to read this series, you will not be disappointed! For me it is a real literary treat to find a book that completely consumes me, invades my thoughts and leaves me emotionally exhausted, and this series has accomplished that...and then some! Corinne Michaels is a truly gifted author, and I look forward to reading more of her work!

Great Conclusion to Consolation!! This book was ugly, sad, funny, emotional, and most of all, it was REAL!! Conviction picked right up where Consolation left off and I was engrossed from page go. Corinne Michaels has a real talent for capturing her readers as soon as they open the book. I could not put this book down once I started reading it, and hey, why wouldn't you, there was more, Liam "Dreamboat" Dempsey??!! I stayed up all night reading it, because I had to get to the ending!!! It did not disappoint me!! My heart ached for Lee, Liam and Aaron in this one. What was happening in this story was not for the faint of heart. I will say that there were points in the story where I truly struggled with what was happening, because I can remember being ticked the heck off at Aaron while reading Consolation, but I will say that at the same time I had a feeling that something just wasn't right with him...as though he was not really being himself when he did the things he did; so I had a hard time with Lee and Liam being in a relationship while Lee was technically still married to Aaron. I know most will not agree, but I cannot imagine being Aaron and coming back from being held as a POW for over a year to find that your wife has fallen in love with your best friend, your daughter that you have never seen before is calling your best friend daddy, your best friend has basically replaced you, and your life as you knew it is completely gone. Wow!! There is no way in the world that, that does not hurt like hell!! And regardless of what some may say, Aaron did love Lee and his struggle with PTSD started long before he was taken as a POW and it totally affected his behavior. Having said that, I thoroughly enjoyed Conviction. Lee and Liam belonged together, because there love was a forever-kind of love. Conviction was so well written and the storyline flowed very well. Honestly, how could it not...Jackson "Muffin" Cole was in it, and for me, that is enough of an enjoyment. Great job, Corinne Michaels on a job very well done. Now, I am so looking forward to Mark's book, because that man cracks me the heck up!! Seriously, I could not stop laughing at his antics in Conviction!! Where does he come up with this stuff.

5 star I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well. The story has laughs, grief, lies, secrets, betrayal, pain, sweet love and heartbreak.  If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Consolation (The Consolation Duet, #1) This is Natalie’s story. When her husband returned from the dead she was torn.  She missed her husband but she loves Liam.  When her husband lies about things she discovered while he was gone she is broken again.  He continues to lie again and again.  She wants Liam but he is not around.  He is giving her a chance to decide what she wants.  The more lies her husband tells the more she pulls away from him.  She moved on while he was gone.  Can she be friends with her husband for their daughter’s sake if it comes to that?  Will her husband ever really let her go?  Can she count on Liam to stick by her when he walked away from her once already?  Will she ever be able to make a relationship work?  Who will she choose in the end?  Is all the pain worth the prize in the end? I loved these characters and also the side characters. There are some tear filled moments and anger filled moments in this story. In the end will Natalie choose who you want her to choose? I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.  I highly recommend this book.

This book was well worth the wait. I cried, I laughed, I wanted to throw things. I absolutely love Corinne's writing. Unlike some other authors she really makes her stories feel real. Not everything goes perfect and her couples have ups and downs and  Struggles like in real life. In this book we see Natalie struggling to convince Liam he is the one she wants, we see Liam struggle with the loss of a loved one and ee feel Natalie's worries and joy over her pregnancy. Can't wait for future books in this series. I adore Corinne Michael's writing!

A review is just that a review. Please don't write a novella and tell eveyone what happened in the book. You have spoiled it for those of us who have not read it. Next time put SPOIL ALERT so we can by pass your two cents!!!

This book was so worth the wait. I was angry, emotional, happy and afraid while reading this story. I was so angry on Lee's behalf that she continued to suffer at the hands of others. I was happy that she was strong in her love for Liam and she was sure that he was who she wanted. I was afraid that through it all something bad would happen and I was gonna be a hot mess. Hats off to Corinna Michaels for writing an awesome book.

The wait is over!  Natalie is now confronted with the fact that Aaron has survived!  After a year of mourning him, burying him, and finding out he cheated on her, she now must face the fact that he is alive.  Her dreams of starting a new life with Liam are shattered as she watches Liam's reaction and lack of eye contact. This now is the journey of Natalie, Liam and Aaron as they must find out what love, loyalty and commitment really means.  For Aaron, coming back from a year of being tortured and hoping he can someday come back to Natalie, it is a rude awakening.  He not only must face the fact that his hopes are shredded, but that his past mistakes have consequences. Corinne Michaels has given us here a sober, unflinching conclusion to these characters' hopes and dreams.  She intimately describes the struggle our military wives go through with each deployment.  Their sacrifice is more than risking a loved one's life.  It is their daily struggle to survive the unknown... will he be safe; will he make it back; will he come back changed from what he has had to face?  The strength of our fighting men depends on the conviction their partners have in keeping a stable home for them to come back to.  The support and undying love of these families becomes the core that keeps them stable to perform their jobs.

For the first time in my life, I actually STOPPED reading in a middle of a book to start Conviction!!! I have waited MONTHS (felt like years) for Conviction to be released - and it most definitely delivered. It was WELL WORTH the torture!  However, the torture of having it and not being able to read it all in one sitting due to other obligations was probably more heart-breaking then the wait of release. This is by far definitely a "ONE-sitting," reading (even though my schedule did not allow it). From beginning to the end, there was not a moment that did not capture me. I read it any chance I had, even if it's just for a quick minute in between things, I read it. I laughed, I cried, and laughed again! If you want a book with a full-range of emotions, CONVICTION is it. I read it so quickly because I was completely absorbed in it, that I am going back for round #2 to ensure I did not miss anything! Must read book #1, first. This book is going NOT only on my MUST READ shelf, but also MUST BUY PAPERBACK shelf.  All I know is.. going forward, I will have to remind the hubby to ONLY "LIAM-LOVE," me!!!! ;)
