Cool Country Hits, Vol. 5: Love Songs compiles ten country hits of varying degrees from some big names and lesser-known acts. The songs are all taken from the late '80s, the '90s, and 2000 and were originally released on Curb Records (except for the Hank Williams, Jr. song, which was originally released on Warner Bros. in 1985). Quite a few of the songs hit number one on the country charts. Wynonna's "To Be Loved by You," Hank Williams' "I'm for Love," Jeff Carson's "Not on Your Love," and the Desert Rose Band's "I Still Believe in You" all were chart-toppers. LeAnn Rimes' "Unchained Melody" and Sawyer Brown's "Treat Her Right" came very close to reaching the summit, both topping out at number three. The rest of the songs on the disc all reached the Top Ten (except for "Good Morning Beautiful" by Steve Holy, which only reached number 31). As a collection of country love songs that were big hits at a very low price, this disc certainly delivers.
