This is one of those rare occassions in when at very first note, I'm instantly a fan. I love this album. This is so refreshing. I am grateful to have had the experience to hear it.

I totally ran across Corinne Bailey Rae by chance. While watching Grey's Anatomy there was a scene in which they played the song Like A Star. After hearing this I was hooked and had to find out who song it. This girl is just as the title states simply a breath of fresh air. She has a sound and style that is truly her own. The WHOLE album is awesome, every track is substantial with absolutely no filler tracks what so ever. Just let it play from beginning to end. I can't state how much I love this album. This album gets better each time I listen to it. So if you are looking for something that doesn't sound like the same ole run of the mill give this one a try. I think you will like it.

I had never heard anything from CBR but saw good reviews and decided to take a chance and purchase the cd. I am very happy with my purchase. I went as far as to leave a message on my brother's cell phone telling him to look into Ms. Rae. I can't see anyone being disappointed with this album. What a wonderful way to break into the industry. I don't doubt her staying power at all and look forward to future projects by her or featuring her.

I heard CBR on "Live with Regis and Kelly", and thought she had a good voice and a catchy song in "Put Your Records On". Little did I know that I'd find an artist of maturity and depth with a lilting voice that reminds me of a lazy summer day. "Records" and "Like A Star" are standouts, but the entire album is great. If you're looking for something new, this charming album from CBR will make you smile.

With all the Hip-Hop, Rap, and freak Rock and Roll music out there this CD is a welcome change. How refreshing. This CD is like that first flower you see when spring is emerging.

I recommend this CD to everyone. It's wonderful and I love Corinne's beautiful voice. Don't take my word for it though... listen to it yourself! :)

I had bypassed this album numerous times either in stores or here online. I really wasn’t going to pick this up till a friend recommended this album to me. Bailey Rae, to me, seems very retro but still contemporary, to the point that she’s hard to tie down to one genre. She entails colorful, thoughtful lyrics that ache of love not quite there, balance by youthful optimism with a hint of disappointment. While listening to this I also realize that she's weaker on up tempos but stronger on ballads. On this project the tracks that stood out to me are "Enchantment" owed to its smooth jazz tempo, "Trouble Sleeping" with it’s R&B/pop ballad, "Breathless" due to its beautiful tempo as well as “Like A Star" and "Butterfly", with the last one not only being the best of the bunch, but the one that ultimately showcases Bailey Rae's lyrics. The single, "Put Your Records On", is one great mid-tempo ditty that's easy to sing along to, but certainly lacks some of the depth of the other material. The lyrics on this one trumpet free spirited innocence and self-discovery, but don't really say much more than you've heard before from similar artists. To her credit, she maintains a good consistency throughout this album by using one main producer. However, as a singer, her voice can sometimes get lost in busier arrangements, if she's not careful. Her delivery, while dripping with personality, can lack an intensity that a vocalist needs to command the ear of the listener. On "Call Me When You Get This", one of few up tempos, the track almost runs her over which you can find yourselves bored by whatever she's singing about. Hopefully, with her stardom, record company, and those in her corner they will allow her to stay the path set before her and give her the time and space to continue to mature and flourish. Her self-titled album is certainly worth the price of admission for those seeking well crafted contemporary soul. At the end of this note, I too recommend this album.

Bailey Rae's unique and haunting voice is not to be disputed- Her producer is a bit heavy on the drum backgrounds and annoying voice-overs

I love this cd so much. Every song on the album is compelling and the lyrics are so poetic. Trouble Sleeping and Call Me When You Get This are my fav tracks. Corinne 's lazy, angelic voice is so delighful to hear. Butterfly made a few tears run down my face. I definitely recommend this cd for anywho understands, appreciates, and is longing for REAL music.

This CD is awesome! I have a hard time finding good artists like this. If you like Joss Stone, Sarah McLachlan, Michelle Branch or Etta James, you will LOVE this CD!!

"Put your records on" gets me up and dancing with a fake microphone in my hand every time I hear it. I bought several CDs the other day and hers is the only one I have been playing over and over. Her voice is sweet and infectious, at times raspy, stoned-like as in Sly and the Family Stone "Its a family affair". Buy it.

"Cool, Classic & Perfectly Cut" is the only thing to say about this work of art created by Ms. Bailey Rae - RoKsta Inc.

There isn't one song I don't like on this refreshing album. Corinne's sound is unique and if you're looking for something new I definately recommend this album. I've been on the look out for a new sound and came across this album's reviews and thought I'd give it a try and see for myself. I'm really glad I did, I listen to it all the time. I recommend this album to all I meet that are tired of the radio.

I loved the CD from the fist song to the last song. I do believe she should have won the Grammy for new artist. Her music touched me in so many ways. Made me think of my youthful days, love lost, things that might have been, life, loneliness, togetherness, happiness. So may emotions that it's breathing!
