Overview

A smart, sexy entrepreneur. A wealthy, arrogant ladies' man set on purchasing her company. And a hotbed of chemistry neither one of them anticipated.

Aiden Stewart is just going through the motions of running the family business, a mega communications company snapping up all the competition. His trip to a tiny New England town to negotiate the purchase of ChatDotCom is nothing more than an interruption in his plans for his next female conquest. The last thing he expects is for Chat's CEO M. Jordan Fitzgerald to be a woman who takes his breath away.

Jordan is focused on business, not romance. She's got too much at stake, working to protect Chat's employees, as well as making sure her family is taken care of. Falling in love is not part of the business plan, but resisting the man she really should not want is proving impossible.

When a rival wants to take over Chat too, Jordan struggles to keep her personal life from affecting the business deal. With secrets that could ruin everything, she has to decide if she can balance business with pleasure.

Linda Cunningham introduces hot new characters in her second Small Town novel, a steamy office romance set in idyllic Clark's Corner, Vermont.

Do people really fall in love in just a couple of days? I don’t know. I have an aunt and uncle who met on a Monday, married on a Friday and have been happily married for over 30 years. So it’s not beyond belief in my mind that it could happen, but does the story make me believe it? That is what I have really been questioning after reading this book. Aiden is a strong business man, known for closing the big deals for his father’s company, Trade Winds. He is also a playboy. He sees women as objects. He gets them, sleeps with them and moves on. That is until he meets the CEO of the company he is trying to close a merger with, Jordan. Jordan is a single mother, living to support not only her and her daughter, but her parents and brother since her father lost his job. She has done everything she could within the ChatDotCom to ensure that her family is provided for. When Aiden and Jordan meet, things change for both of them drastically. Setting the merger aside, the sparks fly between the two of them and you see a change in Aiden that is so drastic it really makes you question the reality of love at first sight. Jordan is scared to give into a relationship with Aiden as she is so focused on keeping everything in her life on track and providing for everyone else that she does not make time to focus on her needs. Will they find a way to make it work? Throw in one psycho freak disguised as a sharp business man who is also interested in acquiring Chat and you have a crazy ride. I loved Aiden in this book, he knew when honesty was needed and was willing to do almost anything to make a relationship with Jordan work outside of the boardroom. When uncertainty leaves Jordan confused and afraid, Aiden steps back and leaves her alone to decide what she really wants out of her life, their relationship and for her daughter. I loved this book and the characters in this book. It had passion, angst and love. Linda Cunningham writes great characters and their interaction was amazing. So much happened in this book in such a short period of time, I wasn’t sure if I was going to be okay with that or not, however, it worked well for this story and it kept my attention. I didn’t want to put this book down. I would recommend this book to friends in a heartbeat, it was a sweet story with some crazy twists and I loved it.

When Aiden Stewart set off for Vermont, he thought he was just going to negotiate a business merger. What he found was a woman who stole his heart. This definitely took Aiden for a loop because he loves the ladies. He is a player and had no intention of slowing things down in that department. But, his business negotiations with Jordan's company, make him rethink his whole player status.  Jordan is also interested in Aiden, but she's got some baggage that comes along with her. She's a single mother and has recently taken over ChatDotCom. She's overwhelmed and meeting someone like Aiden was the last thing she expected. However, their chemistry brought them together and not only did they figure out a way to make their companies merge, but they fell in love in the process.  I'll say that I liked Aiden and Jordan. I think Jordan's back story was interesting and I loved that she worked hard to keep a successful company running and raise a toddler. That's a lot of work. And I was glad to see Aiden change his ways, although we know 'of' his player status, but never really saw it. What didn't work with me in regards to their relationship was that they fell in love so deeply within a week's time, while working on a business merger. Now, I know this is a story, but it just didn't sit well with me. I didn't mind the sex and the exploration of feelings, but falling in love that fast threw me off for the rest of the book. I also could have done without the dramatic scene toward the end of the book. It just felt unnecessary to me.  Looking at the book overall, I did like it. Maybe not as much as I liked Small Town Girl, but it was pleasant. And it was nice to see a small glimpse of Lauren and Caleb from the first book. Caleb was hot. There are some steamy moments but nothing too graphic. The language during the love scenes is a bit more flowery than erotic. You can read this book as a stand alone even though it's part of a series. Recommended for readers who are looking for  a fast paced love story with just a hint of spice.
