This is the first critical edition and generally available translation of the short allegorical comedy Cosmarchia by Jacob Bidermann, the best-known Jesuit dramatist. Adapting a parable from Barlaam and Joasaph, Bidermann urges holy war aginst the deceitfulness of worldly life.
