Finally, the book examines the synergy of cosmeceuticals and topical bioactive agents with light-based technologies, safety issues, a regulatory perspective for OTC marketing, and concludes with a discussion of the business aspects related to home-use of light-based devices.

Before joining Allergan in January 08, Dr. Ahluwalia was at Gillette, a subsidiary of P&G Company for over 20 years where he led multidisciplinary teams of researchers for development of dermatology drugs and medical devices. His industry experience and expertise range from concept generation and various phases of drug development to securing FDA's marketing approval.
A pioneer in the field of identification of biochemical targets for hair growth management and determination of mechanism of action of compounds and laser and light-based treatments, Dr. Ahluwalia has 47 awarded US patents with broad 'method of use' claims and about 50 publications in peer reviewed scientific journals.
