In the last ten years, we have experienced a speeding up of everything. The decade of the nineties brought to us the three-minute combo meal, Internet banking, e-mail, faster travel, and many more timesaving devices. Nevertheless, it seems like the demands on our time are greater than ever.
In Mark chapter four, Jesus told His disciples a parable about sowing the Word. He spoke of the types of hearts and the craftiness that Satan uses to steal the Word. Jesus admonished His disciples not to let the cares, anxieties, distractions of the age, deceitfulness of riches, and the desire for material possessions creep in and choke the Word.
Count It As Done was written as "fast food for the human spirit," but with lasting "eternal nutrition." Take a moment to quietly reflect on God's Word and the supporting poetry. You will find yourself touched, strengthened, refreshed, and perhaps just a little quieter deep inside.ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
