After reading "The Countess Takes a Lover," (which I loved) I was excited to learn that The Countess's story continued in a second book but as a secondary character. The main characters here are Cecile (the countess's ladies maid) and Nate (second son of a duke). Their relationship began much as the countess's - through deception. Though I did like Cecile and Nate's story, it did not have the same echantment for me as the first book, nor the originality. But it was nice to see how Meredith and Chris continued on in their relationship though i do not know if i would have rather had made my own conclusions about them from the first book book but revisiting them was pleasant. Regardless, i do recommend this story. Its the perfect length and such an easy and fast read. Nate and Cecile are really just sweet together and there is no doubt that Meredith and Chris were made for each other. 3.5/5 stars
