Millions of readers have fallen in love with Ava's bestselling books...come join the family.

International Bestselling Author Ava Miles presents a sweet and emotional love story about two people who should be wrong for each other but turn out to be so right. Chosen as Best Book of the Year and connected to Ava's bestselling small town Dare Valley series, this romance will warm your hearts and curl your toes.

When famous--and infamous--country singer rock star Rye Crenshaw saunters into the diner where she cooks, Tory Simmons is certain she's got him pegged. He's a bad boy Alpha male who indulges himself in all things, women included. But while she couldn't care less about country music or arrogant men, Rye makes her an offer she can't refuse when he asks her to be his private chef on his multi-city concert tour. The job is the answer to all her prayers: it will clear out her debt and finance the fresh start she desperately needs.

Rye is certain his sassy new cook is the last woman who'd ever tempt him, but spending time with the wholesome girl next door will do wonders for his damaged public image, whether she likes being forced into the spotlight or not. Her food also happens to be the best he's ever eaten, both comforting and seductive. But spending time with Tory on the road shows him a new side to her--one that's as impossible to resist as her food. And when an emergency in his family whisks him home, he does the one thing he's never risked: he lets a woman into his heart...

Soon the emotions Rye faked for the tabloids become all too real, but will the country heaven he's found in Tory's arms survive in the real world?

This is not a cliffhanger. What do you do when you have lost everyone important to you? What do you do when you face a mortgage on the family home, you're working on your PhD? What do you do when your job allows you enough to keep your head above water but impending drowning in an ocean of debt is cresting above you? Tory had gumption. She learned it from her grandparents. Her life has been a tragedy and it honed her morals and values. She speaks from her heart and she cooks to comfort others. She cooks in loving memory of her beloved grsndmother. Every recipe as a story and brings alive her family. The story of how a country western bad boy meets a simple, honest girl was interesting. Then there is betrayal and wild accusations that tear a budding romance into wisps of broken dreams. The mystery is never solved in this story, but the story was well developed so you are not left hanging! I recommend the story and the cornbread recipe is good! I did fry up fresh corn and added it to the batter before baking it up! I am going the try the baked french toast recipe today1

I loved this book from beginning to end. The characters, the settings, the family interactions.....everything, but one! I don't mind four-letter words, or sexuality. But hearing God's name taken in vain so often makes me cringe. I'm a believer, and every time someone says Jesus, or Christ with anger, I turn it into a prayer. It's extremely unnecessary in such a good book! For that reason, I only gave it 4 stars. Such a shame.

Very good book. I gave it four stars because of the language. Would have been better if the language was cleaner.

Terrific Writing This is a wonderful story about a couple who start off rocking. He's a bad boy country star. She is a Cook trying to finish her dissertation, pay off her grandfather's medical bills. He walks into the diner one night and life changes.

This book is worth the time. Most of the recipes look pretty good. Maple syrup in cornbread? Interesting. But the lasagna recipe is infuriating. What size “packages” of sausage? What kind of sausage? What size cottage cheese container? What size can tomato paste? Maybe other people can make this out,but I sure can’t. Won’t make it if I can’t be sure about the ingredients. Surely I’m not the first to notice this flaw.

This is my first book my Ms. Miles and I enjoy it immensely. The story of Rye and Tory their ups and downs, learning how to trust each other and their love. This book shows how physical and verbal in families not only affect the wife but the children ... shows how Rye steps up to protect his sister and her children.

This book had a lot of family drama, but kept my interest & I didn’t want to put the book down. Ryes nephew knew a lot about love at six years old & shared that with his uncle. It also showed how children could be affected when there was abuse between a Mother & Father! It also showed how easy people could jump to conclusions & think that some one had broke their trust. This was a great book!

Even country musicians, build a barrier to protect their hearts, but we all need to trust to receive that special gift in life called love.
