This book was amazing. I got so involved with Henri and Diane. I actually was heartbroken, when Diane was. The story is wonderful and the details are spot on. This is a book you will read and read again. I could not put it down.

This is one of the all time great love stories. This was the most moving book that I have read in a long time. I laughed, longed and cried! Catherine de Medici never had a chance. This story has everything romance, politics and history. Great book that I couldn't put down!

I've read thousands of books and this tops them all. I have read it over and over and it always makes me laugh and cry. Such vivid details and a love to last forever.

Diane de Poitiers is frequently portrayed in history books as a loose woman, but here, she is depicted as the long-time love of the King of France. Much interesting side business on her dealings with her children from her earlier marriage and the intricacies of life at court, with many women scheming to take her place in the king's heart and a queen who must be dealt with. A most interesting book.

I enjoyed reading Courtesan by Diane Haeger. I was more familiar with what was going on in England at the time, and of course this book intertwined with that knowledge. I found the personal dynamics very interesting, and the court politics were depicted well. I will read more by this author.

This was a well written novel, giving historical insight into the French Court and the struggles for personal and national power. It also delved into the often tragic child marriages for wealth and power. The passion of Henri and Diane was beautifully portrayed as was their tragic destiny. I would highly recommend this novel to readers of historical fiction. It is one of the best.

This book is a remarkable spin on the renaissance period in france during King Henry II's short rule. His epic love for diane d'poiters is breathtaking and will be remembered for as long as there are people to pass on the story. A love so strong trickles down the centuries so readers like us can enjoy it, even 500 years later. You will laugh, cry, get angry, happy, and fall in love with the characters ( the story is based on factual people and events). I have read this book at least 6 times, and I know I will continue to pick it up in the years to come. A must have for any historical romance lover, or a diane heager fan! Do your self a big favor, and buy the book. You won't regret it. Diane is inspiring, and I can even feel pain and sorrow for catherine, even if her motives weren't always honest. I love this story!
