Mistletoe Reunion A sweet story of second chance love between Marlys, a female homeopathic doctor and Samuel, a journalist and author. They never expected to be reunited after so many years, and old feelings are brought to the surface again to be explored. I liked that Marlys is intellectual and driven in her career because she wants to help people. She is very compassionate which shows her softer side. Samuel is a perfect match for her because he admires her independence and the sacrifices she makes to benefit the lives of others. He's a bit hesitant to see if she has room in her life for him, but his son helps them bond and see the happiness that the love of being a family would bring. Mistletoe Bride This story has a fabulous beginning with a great hook- Colton marries Beatrix on her deathbed to provide a name for her soon to be born son... but she doesn't die! He instantly feels protective and concerned for her, and it doesn't wane after she recovers, but blossoms into care and affection. Their romance grows sweetly, I loved how he defends her and shows his regard for her in such sweet ways since he doesn't have any experience with relationships. He also has deeper issues about his past which brings another dimension to the story as Beatrix helps him turn to God for forgiveness. There is a bit of a language barrier in the beginning and a cultural dynamic such as the persecution against Austrians by those of German descent because of the war in Europe. Well-developed characters and a great plot made this a story I'll want to read again. (I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher; all opinions in this review are my own)

CHRISTMAS TIME AT COWBOY CREEK FOR TWO NEW COUPLES With each story, we have a chance to see people from previous stories and learn how their lives have progressed, how the town is growing and get a glimpse at new residents. Each story can read as a standalone, and even better as a collective series. They are clean romances that have a Christian undertone with a moral message, just sharing the love of God and His word in a way that is appropriate to that story. There is a great cast of characters, social interaction, a little bit of angst, some sweet moments, and as in everything else in life, some decisions to make. In this book, we get two short but sweet stories by two of the previous authors. There is always a little extra magical moment at Christmas time. Mistletoe Reunion by Cheryl St.John What a shock for two people from Pennsylvania to meet again in Cowboy Creek after all these years. Sam and Marlys had a very short engagement, and she broke it off to pursue her dream of medicine and healing. Now they have been reunited, but her choice deeply hurt Sam in life. Watching her tend to her patients, and learning more about her and her talents give him a better insight to her after all these years. But, can two people, with a history, and heartache have a second chance at happiness? Will a prestigious offer have Marlys leaving again for her career? “Her heart was no different. Love knew no boundaries. Love translated into any language.” “The path we take aren’t always straight and flat. There are plenty of curves and valleys while getting to where we’re supposed to be.” Mistletoe Bride by Sherri Shackelford Two people, each with a past, heartache, grief, and isolation will find themselves together. Can a baby help heal these two adults and give them a chance at a future? There is trouble brewing in town with some young teens harassing Beatrix. News from far away could change the future and shatter dreams. “She’d been living as a pariah for so long, his simple acceptance of her and her baby lifted a crushing weight from her shoulders.” Will Colton and Beatrix realize that you make your own fate? And will they find their HEA ending?

Two beautiful novellas situated during the first Thanksgiving festivities where both women have to make a decision between two destinies both alluring on their own merit. In Mistletoe Reunion by Cheryl St.John Marlys and Sam has a second chance to built a future together. Marlys is a doctor of advanced medicine and has always been career oriented and sure of it that she should choose between career or happy marriage. But Sam sees her as she is, and respects her knowledge and abilities, and encourage her to make a difference in the field of medicine no matter what the consequences. I felt the struggle they had, from their past connection to trusting again, the experimental status of Marlys's treatments, the wonder of what the future holds. But with adjusting and compromise, they find a way to each other again until Marlys gets a career offer like no other. Very forward thinking and thought provoking tale with sweet romance and trusting in faith to guide them to their destiny. Mistletoe Bride by Sherri Shackelford is an intense and fragile tale of a marriage of convenience. The aftermath of the European war makes its ugly head rise up in the Kansas town where Colton does his best to protect his sudden and unplanned bride. The circumstances of their marriage are peculiar yet with time and care the true feelings grow. I loved Colton and Beatrix. The fragility of the situation they are in was palpable. The obstacles on their way were enormous, yet their willingness to work on their relationship, to compromise and accept each other was remarkable. The stories parallel each other as the two couples are fumbling into love during the first Thanksgiving celebration. Their journeys are filled with hindrance and challenges, but with faith, hope, and love in the play, they have a fighting chance to find the forever and a day kind of love in their lives ~ Four Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

Mistletoe Reunion by Cheryl St. John Marlys Boyd—a female doctor using non-traditional medicine—has a lot of prejudices and misconceptions to overcome in a time of history when it was frowned upon for her profession. She’s practical, level-headed and keeps mostly to herself. When she meets up again with Sam Mason, her world begins to be turned upside down! Not only were these two engaged years ago, but Sam also has a young son. Has God put these two back together to not only work through the past, but rekindle their love? Mistletoe Bride by Sherri Shackelford Beatrix Haas is in a fix when she arrives in Cowboy Creek! As a pregnant mail-order bride, she finds her would be husband is dead and she’s about to give birth. Colton Werner sums up the grave situation and offers marriage in order to protect her and give the baby his name. What plan does God have in store for this marriage of convenience? Two stories intertwine to bring us a message of hope, faith and love in a fictional up-and-coming town that feels real to the reader! Characters with flaws, past mistakes, and regrets remind us of who we can go to in times of trouble—God! Each story also equally portrays finding love in circumstances sometimes beyond our control or understanding, but just as heart-warming and sweet. A wonderful two-in-one story sure to please during the holiday season! *I received a complimentary copy from the author & a favorable review was not required of me. All opinions expressed here are strictly my own.*

It was absolutely wonderful to return to Cowboy Creek. From the first page it was like a reunion with beloved friends and meeting new ones. I loved that the two heroines in this book were strong women who didn't give up on their hopes or dreams in spite of their fathers' cruelty. I also loved the beautiful message that home is where you find love. Love, faith, community, and friendship can heal even the deepest wounds. I really hope that there will be more Cowboy Creek stories in the future because these characters are so endearing that a reader cannot help but become invested in them.

It was great to visit Cowboy Creek again. If I lived during this time in history, I would want to live in this town! I love the cast of characters that live in this town! In this book we get to meet four more people! First we meet Marlys and Sam. At first Marlys (love the name, by the way!) was a little hard to get to know but then you learn her back story and you understand why she acts the way she does! She's a doctor of "alternative" medicine - very strange in those days! She hopes the people of Cowboy Creek will embrace her and her different ways, especially because she's a woman. Imagine her surprise when she discovers her ex-fiancée, Sam, lives in the same western town! Their story is fun and sweet! Sam is a newspaper guy with a young son and I immediately loved him! His son is adorable too! The other couple we meet is Beatrix and Colton. Beatrix's story is very compelling! She speaks very little English and has only come to America because she is an unwed mother and was shamed in her country. I can only imagine coming to a foreign country, alone, pregnant and not speaking the language. You don't know anyone and you suddenly go into a complicated labor! Enter Colton - a man in town who speaks a little German so he helps the doctor while Beatrix is going through labor. He decides to marry Beatrix at that time so her baby will have a father & a name since Beatrix might die. What a selfless act! I kept thinking what I would do in that circumstance! Well, Beatrix doesn't die and suddenly Colton & Beatrix are spouses, trying to figure out how to live a marriage of convenience! I loved this story!

Misteltoe Reunion by Cheryl St John This story is another fantastic story by Cheryl St John. I loved this new story in Cowboy Creek. It is another renewed meeting of previous engaged people now finding each other again. It has a lot of wonderful things to celebrate and see how humanity can be or was back in their day with Indian tribes now on reservations. How the town’s people come together to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas. Just joy and happiness and some uncertain things between people and finding love in a heart where it wasn’t believed it could happen. I highly recommend this book but first to get aquainted with Cowboy Creek and it’s residents to help you know the people and the town in this story. Mistletoe Bride by Sherri Shackelford This is another big hit for Sherri Shackelford. This is another story taking place in beloved Cowboy Creek. I love this story from the very beginning as the not so sure of himself Colton Werner finds himself knee deep in a new arrivals life as he is asked to help with Beatrix Haas who just arrived in Cowboy Creek heavily pregnant. She was to marry the now deceased sheriff Quincy Davis and has come all the way from Austria to be his mail order bride. Colton speaks some German and tries to translate for Leah who is the midwife trying to deliver and help keep Beatrix alive. Beatrix pleads in German with Colton to marry her so the baby has a name. She knows she is dying and that is a request that weights heavily on Colton but he knows Leah and her husband Daniel will take the baby so he says he will. Boy this story just grabs you and pulls you in from the very beginning. There is so much going on from the start you don’t even think about what could come of all of this. Well I want you to get this Must Read story which is in the Cowboy Creek Christmas along with Mistletoe Reunion by Cheryl St John. Both are must read stories in one book and if you haven’t read any of the Cowboy Creek wonderful stories start with the very first one to get the background on the town. Every story in this series is exceptionally wonderful and beautiful awesome, adventurous reads. I recommend this book with Sherri Shackelford’s and Cheryl St John’s wonderful Christmas stories. This is an ARC by both authors for my unbiased review.

This is two novellas that are stand alone novellas, yet I love the Cowboy creek series and would encourage you to read them all, Want Ad Wedding, Special Delivery Baby and Bride by Arrangement. You will fall in love with all those in Cowboy Creek. Mistletoe Reunion - We meet the determined and sometimes a little awkward, Dr. Marlys Boyd. Her methods are not always typical yet her heart is in the right place. When she comes to Cowboy Creek to start her practice she is not expecting to run into a man from her past. Is God leading her in a direction she is totally unprepared for or is there another choice? Sam Mason is a father and writer. He is trying to build a relationship with his young son and start a new life in Cowboy Creek. When the one woman who hurt his pride and heart enters his life again, can he become friends only? I loved the story of Marlys and Sam. Their history, determination, friendship and wanting Gods will. With all its twist and turns this is a great read. Mistletoe Bride - Colton has been introduced to us in previous Cowboy Creek books, however this somewhat recluse, moose of a man, becomes front and center when he meets Beatrix. When Colton decides to do the right thing, can he forgive his past and truly have a future? Beatrix has found herself in desperate need of a rescue. When the rough and very masculine man may be her only hope will they find a happy ever after? This novella is full of forgiving yourself, living with your consequences, trusting God and so much more. I love the town of Cowboy Creek and enjoy every visit I have made there in the entire series.
