About the Author

Kait Ballenger hated reading when she was a child, because she was horrible at it. Then by chance she picked up the Harry Potter series, magically fell in love with reading, and never looked back. When she realized shortly after that she could tell her own stories, and they could be about falling in love, her fate was sealed.

She earned her B.A in English from Stetson University-like the Stetson cowboy hat-followed by an M.F.A in Writing from Spalding University. After stints working as a real vampire aka a phlebotomist, a bingo caller, a professional bellydancer, and an adjunct English professor, Kait finally decided that her eight-year-old self knew best: she's meant to be a romance writer.

When Kait's not preoccupied with writing captivating paranormal romance, page-turning suspense or love scenes that make even seasoned romance readers blush, she can usually be found spending time with her family, being an accidental crazy cat lady (she has 4 now-don't ask), or with her nose buried in a good book. She loves to travel, especially abroad, and experience new places. She lives in Florida with her doting librarian husband, her adorable young son, a loveable mangy mutt of a dog, and the four conniving felines.

Kait Ballenger's Cowboy In Wolf’s Clothing is an outstanding romance-paranormal about wolf shifters, and this is about one particular wolf shifter with an attitude. He is intense and riveting character who defies authority. The book offers action and steamy romance in a fight for survival.

Review: COWBOY IN WOLF’S CLOTHING by Kait Ballenger Publication Date: June 25, 2019 Genre: Paranormal Romance Reviewed by: Reading in Pajamas/ Donna Rated 5 Stars This is a great follow-up to Cowboy Wolf Trouble, showing that this series will be fun to read. The trouble started immediately and spread throughout the book at the perfect pace. The drama wasn’t only from the vampires, but also from Colt and Belle themselves. Colt is the standoffish soldier and Belle, the skittish rogue with hidden mettle. They’re both dealing with their pasts and trying to move forward, thus giving them a nice depth of character. Their relationship built from instant attraction, to hot and spicy romance, to love. All this bound together with the pack camaraderie and the message that DNA isn’t the only thing that makes a family. I can’t wait for book 3 in this series. *Review copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. ~*~*~*~

I liked the idea behind this story, however, the execution was lacking. I did not read the first book in this series, so maybe the explanations for missing information were in there. But even if they were, some reiteration or adding on to the world building was needed. Like why are all rogue wolves outcasts? Including those born to rogues. Why are the Grey Wolves the it pack? Why do the Grey kids have the purest blood? Why are the Wolves and Vampire’s beefing? What is mating in this world? If pregnancy can occur even if you’re not mated why wasn’t condom or birth control use a thing? This story suffers from instalove, and in the worst way. The leads spent about 48 hours together the first go round. All of that time was spent with justifiable mistrust between them. I can understand how they ended up sleeping together. Because…hormones. But Belle expecting commitment from a man she met the day before was nuts. Then they spend about a month apart, and she returns making demands and criticizing the way Colt lives his life. And even though she spent a week on the ranch, none of that time was spent with Colt. There was action, but there could’ve been a lot more. Like Colt’s month in Vampire captivity was skipped over. I’m no fan of torture porn, but that would’ve been the time for the reader to find out exactly what the Vampires are planning and what their endgame is. Colt’s great escape wasn’t shown but later briefly discussed. It would’ve been cool to read how resourceful and strong Colt is. The book was short, and the basic ideas were good. So I may read the next book in the series. But it isn’t something I will be anticipating. This series seems to be filled with books you read to keep yourself busy while waiting for your fav author’s new release.

This is the second book in this series and the second book I’ve read from this author. I loved it as much as I loved the first one. I really liked both Colt and Belle right from the beginning. I liked following along as the author unravelled who they really were, both to themselves and to others. I loved seeing Wes and Naomi again as well as the overall series continuation that was started in their book. I enjoyed the other characters that were also featured. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. **I voluntarily read and reviewed this book

Two Wolves with Secrets and an Irresistible Chemistry… Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing is the riveting second installment in Kait Ballenger’s Seven Range Shifters’ series. This series revolves around the seven shifter clans that call the Montana Mountains their home. Both of the books in this series have featured an eye-catching set of awesome male abs on the cover. I can’t wait to see how Kait’s going to top these with book 3! I confess that I’ve been a fan of Kait’s since I first discovered her in After Dark, a release she shared with Gena Showalter. Her well-written contribution to the anthology was Shadow Hunter - a page-turner that introduced her fabulous Execution Underground series. This new series is set in that same complex world populated with a variety of supernaturals. That said, if you are a newbie to Kait’s books, you are in for a treat! You’ll be happy to know that Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing works perfectly well as a stand alone read. As the story opens, Dr. Belle Beaumont, who had been imprisoned by the Seven Range Shifters, makes a run for freedom. As luck would have it, she encounters dark and broody High Commander Colt Cavanaugh as she escapes. She attempts to steal his quirky horse which, duh, garners Colt’s attention. When Colt is left struggling for life from injuries sustained in the ensuing fight with the rival Wild Eight’s pack, Belle puts her surgical skills to task and saves his life. Belle knows Colt is a danger to her but she can’t walk away from the cowboy who has stolen her heart. Colt knows Belle is trouble with a capital T, but he can’t help being constantly drawn to her. On the outside, Belle and Colt seem as different as night-is-to-day. But, they actually have more in common than they know. I couldn’t get enough of the flirty and fun sass between Belle and Colt and their sex scenes were intensely hot. However, will they learn to trust each other enough to open up and share the secrets they both harbor? Belle and Colt are great characters with a sizzling chemistry from the moment they meet. This tale is told from Colt’s and Belle’s alternating third-person perspectives – with the advantage of allowing the reader to be privy to what’s in each of their heads. This book highlights the social stratification of wolves that are naturally a pack animal within this world. Belle was born a rogue wolf. She has always yearned for a pack with the protection and camaraderie that a well-run pack offers. Belle tried at one time to join a pack, but things didn’t work out at all as she’d planned. The rogues are never given a choice to join a pack even when they had no choice by being born that way. On the other hand, Colt lives, eats and breathes his pack. It’s everything to him. It will be interesting to see how Kait works through this conflict in future installments. Wes Calhoun and Naomi Evans from the first book play supporting roles. It was great catching up with them and a few other characters from Cowboy Wolf Trouble. Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing is passionate and well-paced tale with great characters. Kait hit this one out of the ballpark as all its parts added up to an engaging, sometimes humorous, highly entertaining read with plenty of unexpected twists. If you enjoy well-plotted, suspenseful paranormal romances with a simmering heat throughout, I’d highly recommend that you check out Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing! Now, I’m drooling waiting on the next book which is coming January 2020!

It is the second book in Kait's new Seven Range Shifters series, which is about werewolves who are also cowboys. But you probably guessed that from the title(s). At first, I found the idea interesting, and maybe even was a little bit sceptical about the theme, because I have never read about one werewolf who lives in a ranch and rides a horse before, never mind more wolves. But then it started to get to me - cowboys are popular nowadays in reader circles, and werewolves, too. What could go wrong, if a talented writer like Kait Ballenger puts together the two? It's like getting two for the price of one, right? Turns out I was right. These men are seriously hot. Here we have our hero, Colt Cavanaugh, who is a tough high commander, the top warrior of the pack, but who also can be charming and seductive. (I like his nickname, but I won't spoil you that.) But the heroine also has a kind of dual personality, because we see she can stand up to alpha wolves, in other situations, she can get frightened and even show signs of weakness, if we can say that. Belle Beaumont is not the strong warrior type of woman, but rather a less hardened doctor. She doesn't really know how to fight physically, but that doesn't mean she is a pushover. Oh no, she really is viper-tongued at times, as Colt tends to think about her. I really loved the couple's banter in this story. I'll try to write this review spoiler-free, but I can say that, like with the first book, both of our main characters have secrets, and we can see how such things can define one's personality, life, their thinking and actions. Colt sure wouldn't be the controlled and hard man he is, if he hadn't made that promise to his (step)father. Or if there was even one member of the pack who knew the truth. We also get an example that sometimes we don't give a chance to the good or even the best things that happened to us in our lives, because we are sticking to our own, sometimes ovverrated, rules. Belle's big secret is kind of known to us readers from the start, but that doesn't mean there aren't others, ones she herself doesn't know about... All in all, these make a story with enough angst, surprises and turning points to keep us on the edge of our seat, reading until the end. As a negative, I can only mention that I felt the ending is a little bit hectic. Some scenes could have been longer and deeper, some happenings and (mainly) emotional wounds could maybe deserve more pages, for example the ones in connection with the baby at the end, to not say more. But maybe it is just me. Either way, I can't not mention the side characters, who will hopefully all get their own HEA. I loved the glimpses of the relationships and the dynamics of the pack, and the different personalities. I feel like we we got to know better some characters, and met some new ones, as well. We can know about the main couple of the next book (I can't wait!), but I know I also really really hope for another pairing of a certain packmaster and a warrior she-wolf. I can say that the first book was a good start, and I think this second one is even better. I have high hopes for the aforementioned next installments. I was very eager to read the second book of seven range shifters after reading the other and love the fact is about Colt. Colt Cavanaugh is the High Commander of the Grey Wolves pack with secrets that plans to never tell a living soul. Belle, born rogue, is a she-wolf with a strong character that is on the run and happens to meet Colt. I like Colt because is very loyal to his pack even with all the stress and pain he must handle. Then Belle comes and challenges Colt’s way of life, he goes against his rules and the chemistry between them couldn’t be better and I couldn’t stop reading because, despite all the thoughts that they can’t be together, it’s inevitable they are drawn to each other. The “fight” they put with each other is funny to read and that’s what makes their relationship so interesting. Didn’t have much action but the suspense and danger were there. The story involves more their feelings and their past and not very action but still very good reading. I received a free copy of this book on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Colt lives for his pack. Belle was born a rogue, who wishes that she could have a packs protection. When she is mistaken as a pack member, Belle and Colt collide in what is sure to be a chemistry intense relationship. I found Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing to be a someone angsty, lots of entertaining read. Flirty and fun, with some serious heat brewing just under all that honor, service and duty. Well-paced, with lots of development for future installments. Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing has definitely left me wanting more in the Seven Range Shifter Series. I received this ARC copy of Cowboy in Wolf's Clothing from SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca. This is my honest and voluntary review.

This is a first for me by Kait Ballenger and as a second in a series, it can definitely be read as a standalone. I love paranormal romance and this was definitely not a disappointment. As a cowgirl myself, I enjoyed the ranch setting and adored Silver. The chemistry between Colt and Belle was electric! Filled with mystery, action and a stunning revelation at the end, I couldn't have asked for a better story. Thank you to NetGalley and SOUREBOOKS Casablanca for providing me with a copy of this book. The opinion I am providing is completely my own.

4.25stars--COWBOY IN WOLF’S CLOTHING is the second instalment in Kait Bellanger’s contemporary, adult SEVEN RANGE SHIFTERS erotic, paranormal romance series, a spin off from the author’s EXECUTION UNDERGROUND series. This is wolf shifters doctor Belle Beaumont, and High Commander Colt Cavanaugh’s story line. COWBOY IN WOLF’S CLOTHING can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information for the previous instalment is revealed where necessary. Told from dual third person perspectives (Colt and Belle) COWBOY IN WOLF’S CLOTHING follows the building relationship between wolf shifters doctor Belle Beaumont, and High Commander Colt Cavanaugh. Dr. Belle Beaumont, a rogue wolf without a pack, has been imprisoned by the Seven Range Shifters. Upon her escape, Belle would come face to face with High Commander Colt Cavanaugh, a wolf that stirred something deep within our story line heroine, something she is hoping to explore. An attack by a group of vampires and half-vampires leaves our hero struggling for his life, a life of which Belle is about to save. What ensues is the building relationship between Belle and Colt, and the potential fall-out as Belle discovers the truth about our story line hero, a truth he has been hiding most of his life. Colt Cavanaugh is first and foremost a warrior, a shifter, and a cowboy at heart but Colt has been targeted by a group of vampires who know more about our hero than the pack he represents. Fighting for his life, Colt struggles with his attraction to a woman who could threaten any semblance of peace our hero has earned. At war with the rogue pack known as Wild Eight’s as well as the ongoing battle with a group of vampires hunting on their lands, the Seven Range Shifters must come to a decision as it pertains to the threat against all of their lives. Meanwhile, Belle Beaumont is desperate to escape the strangle hold of both the Wild Eights, and the Seven Range Shifters. Not quite a prisoner but detained none the less, our heroine struggles with her attraction to a man who doesn’t do relationships, and is more into one-night stands. A series of attacks against the Seven Range Shifters finds Belle on the run, not only for her life but to escape the man with whom she has fallen in love. The relationship between Belle and Colt is one of immediate attraction but Colt doesn’t do relationships, and Belle is in no position to settle down. Belle gives as good as she gets including her one on one banter with our story line hero. With her freedom granted for services rendered, Belle heads to place unknown until news of a different kind changes her plans. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense but I struggle with the use of a certain four-letter word in my romance story lines. There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Wes Calhoun and Naomi Evans (Cowboy Wolf Trouble #1), Colt’s sister Sierra, Packmaster Maverick Grey and his sister Maeve, Malcolm, Dean, Austin, IT specialist Blaze, vampire Lucas, and several members of the Seven Range Shifters and Wild Eights packs. COWBOY IN WOLF’S CLOTHING is a passionate story of family, friendship, bonding and blood. The premise is dramatic, energetic and engaging; the characters are edgy and animated; the romance is spicy and hot. COWBOY IN WOLF’S CLOTHING is an imaginative and intense addition to Kait Ballenger’s SEVEN RANGE SHIFTERS series.

Belle is a rogue wolf on the run from the Grey Wolf Pack. She is a doctor being held prisoner by vampire's. Colt is the High Commander of the Grey Wolf Pack. He stumbles upon Belle while hunting bad vampire's, she saves him and he promises her freedom. This was a fabulous read. Belle was a strong character not a damsel in distress. Colt was rugged, sexy and has a very big secret. The story was well written with interesting characters and an engaging storyline. The story had angst, danger, passion and romance. Highly recommend! I received an advanced readers copy through NetGallery for an honest review.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy. What a whirlwind of events and emotions throughout this book! Colt's hands are kind of tied with his position on how he can handle Belle - an escaped she-wolf, who is thought to be a member of the Wild Eight pack. But then things are not always as they seem in this book! Colt has a huge secret that he doesn't want revealed but when you look at the way the Grey Wolf pack handled another pack member, it is kind of surprising that he is so worried but I guess it is all tied into the promise that he made to his "father" - James. Belle was not a voluntary member her pack and basically just tried to survive. She also has some secrets that she does not want to come out and at the end, even she learns more about her past! During all this drama, add in the attacks from the vampires and it is non-stop action plus a wedding thrown into the mix. Hope that we will see more of the Rogue and Maeve?? That looks like an interesting story!

I liked the idea of Wolves working as Cowboys as I was very intrigued as to how the livestock would deal with these predators around them. Well we are introduced to Colt who realises that the Vampires are hunting on his Packs land. Unknown to the dangerously efficient Colt though is the fact that a Rogue female is close by and about to attempt to steal his horse ! Belle is on the run and has good reason to fear Colt but oddly doesn't. Oh yes Belle knows he is a danger to her but there's no denying their chemistry and Colt might have his own rules but Belle is just the woman to challenge every one of them ! This story had everything I expected from this author, alpha male and strong female to really throw him off balance. I loved the quirky horse that brought Colt and Belle together as it added humour. If I'm honest although there is action and danger here it wasn't a huge part of the overall plot. No that came down to Colt facing his past and embracing his future. There's a slight tease near the end of a Rogue who will surely make his appearance felt soon but for now it's all about Colt and Belle and the constant snark that clearly keeps their relationship steaming along ! This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Cowboy in Wolf's Clothing has it all! Take one cantankerous wolf shifter know as Commander Casanova because one night is all you’ll get from him, add in a sassy rogue wolf shifting doctor, mix well with lies and secrets, then add in some steaming hot chemistry and you’ll have the recipe for Cowboy in Wolf's Clothing. This story is a convoluted tale of two shifters that are meant to be together getting in their own way and boy is it fun to be along for the ride. Though this is part of a series it can be read standalone.
