Overview

Cowboys and Indians by Keith G. Laufenberg

"Cowboys and Indians" is a look back into history and it explores the entire continent of America which was originally inhabited by Native Americans, none of whom had, or have ever, any familial ties to Amerigo Vespucci, the Italian explorer who was said to have discovered America.

The theme throughout is the undeniable fact that the earth upon which we all live is being systematically strangled, drilled, poisoned, beaten and bartered to death. The undeniable truth shows us that the European immigrants had a philosophical difference with the Native Americans that they encountered living on the shores that they invaded and vanquished and always with the same thought in mind: to steal the land from the ignorant Indians, ignorant because they showed no knowledge of the financial worth of the land, the minerals inside of it and the animals living upon it.

I read the first two stories on Mr. Laufenberg's website and they were so spell-binding that I got the nook and I must say it was well worth it. These stories are a look inside our country and our history and the way things are today we should all be questioning our politicians and their motives. We should have listened much more to what the Native Americans had to say, Shelly Farr

My buddy put me on to this book of stories because he knew I was a wild west fan. I grew up in Dallas and really loved these stories. I knew the Indians had been wronged but I never knew this bad. Really a great amount of history. Loved it. Bobby B

I read two other of Mr. Laufenberg's books, Semper-Fi, the marine book and The Tower about the automobile business and really enjoyed them both. I read some of his short stories like two or three years ago and that was what got me started to reading these books and this one was exceptional. I had read three of them before and strangely enough they were better the second time because I missed a few historical things which I actually checked and they turned out true. I will recommend this and will probably read all his others because for a dollar I've read books for twenty that were no where as good. Jeri M.

I read this guy's marine corps book and it was great and this book is no exception either, it's really a good experience to read this. It actually reads like history as did Semper-fi the other book I read by this writer. I recommend it definitely. Vinnie F.

I only read the first three of these but I'm hooked; I've read two other books by this author and I may read them all. I'm retired and read an awful lot; these stories are a breath of fresh air. F.L.

I'm a fan of Keith Laufenberg's. I read Miami Rock and really loved it and this is more of the same because it's really exciting historical writing that reads really fast. I like the quotations at the front of the stories and I like the endings and the way the Indians lived and considered the planet and life as opposed to the European exploiters, us I mean, and I recommend it to mystery and history readers. I read Thunder and Lightning online at a magazine's website and it brought me to read this book, which I really liked. I've read two other of his books and will probably read more because I really like the way he writes and for a dollar it sure is easy.

Very realistic storys.Overall 3 and a half or 4. I would recommend them. I read mostly over holidays and actuall read 2 of this author and maybe will read more even though I never have enough time during the working year.

I read a lot and read this author a lot and I really like most of his stuff this falls just short of his beat though because of the dialogue and characters which I got to like but many of them are not followed through like in most of his books and short stories.
