What a fun book! I truly enjoyed this book, so much so that I read it in one day. It is funny, charming, witty, whimsical and sassy. If the opening page of this book doesn’t have your hooked I don’t know what will! The story line itself is unique, which was refreshing. Some parts are a little outlandish but just enough to be funny and a bit whimsical. It is filled with witty one liners and a lot of fun. I enjoyed an appreciated, that while Brown had fun with the Christmas theme, she also kept it true by including family and the true meaning of Christmas – Christ’s birth. This is more than a love story. It's about a supportive family and a. single mother and how they deal with there challenges. This has become a favorite of me. I. always feel good when I finish reading it. Sometimes you just want to escape to a life where things are like you'd like them to be.

For anyone that loves a good old fashioned love story... This is your book. The characters are strong, and come to life so effortlessly. I followed this one worth another well worth reading. I've found a new author to love! I've spent my whole life in connecticut, but the southern twang comes to life and I find myself in the south without ever been there. Fantastic book. Took me places, and thats what reading is all about.

Lucas Allen comes home from his tour in Kuwait to find his cyber girlfriend on his front porch, with a baby on her hip, a gun in her hand, a dead coyote on the ground and the puppy hound dogs circling like they just took care of the coyote all by themselves. Shocked might be an understatement. Natalie Clark wanted to surprise Lucas by being at his home coming...they only problem...she left out a few details about her life. The big one, she has a baby. Sizzling chemistry and hot cowboys accent this marvelous story that makes you believe in the miracle of Christmas. If the crazy animal attractions don't pull you in the cute cooing baby will, or the doting grandpa want a bes, or the wonderful meddling cook...The Cowboy's Christmas Baby is a heart warming, touching story that makes you want to break out the mistletoe. This is a perfect feel-good holiday romance. I love the characters and Natalie's grit. It's not an in depth sweeping saga, so it's perfect for a fun, light read on a cold winter afternoon.

The queen of cowboy romance, Carolyn Brown doesn't disappoint with her latest book in the Cowboys and Brides series, The Cowboy's Christmas Baby. Filled with lots of Christmas traditions, family, friends and a working ranch, this novel is a heartwarming love story with a little bit of sizzle. Fans of Brown's books will love the contemporary theme and realistic situations including an internet romance, that isn't exactly what it seems! What I liked: I genuinely loved the theme of this novel. Rancher Lucas Allen is returning home after a tour of duty in Kuwait, only to find that the person he thought he knew from their internet relationship wasn't exactly who she said she was. She left out on important detail... she's a mother. Their mutual friend Drew who was killed in Kuwait fathered her son Joshua and it never seemed the right moment to explain. I thought this theme was very realistic and I could totally buy into something like this happening. Brown did a great job of coming up with a story that would appeal to romance readers who love the strong cowboy type and when mixed with a military background... watch out! Natlalie had a sassy attitude and fresh outlook on life. I liked the fact that she understands that she should have been more forthcoming with Lucas, but she got sucked into the internet. It has a way of making things anonymous and it's easier to leave things out sometimes even to invent things, but eventually it all comes out. I thought her pink pistol was a riot! I want one... She is a good mother and everyone on the ranch soon falls in love with her and Josh, it just takes Lucas a little longer to come around. Lucas was great hero materiel. Cowboy's always are. Rugid and handsome. Loyal and courageous. These qualities are even more apparent in Lucas because of his military background. I thought he took a little longer to get over Natalie's omission than he needed to, but I still liked him a lot. He wants to do the right thing, but he isn't quite sure what that is. I loved him! The romance was great. It had some very heart warming moments as well as some steamy moments which Carolyn is always so good at writing. But there was more than just romantic love on display here. The way Lucas cares for Josh and for his family even those who work for him on the ranch was a joy to read about. I loved all the Christmas hubub and it definitely made me look forward to the season even more. What I didn't Like: The story was a little shaky in the beginning. It skipped around a lot and had an overall disjointed feeling to it, but this eventually gives way to a very well written second half that had me smiling from ear to ear. Give it some time on this one, it's well worth the wait for it to pick up. Bottom Line:  This is another great book by Carolyn Brown, with a great contemporary theme and lots of Christmas cheer. It's just what the doctor ordered to get you the Christmas spirit!

Reviewed by Guest Reviewer/Kimberly & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog Oh boy, sparks do fly when Lucas Allen returns from his tour of duty in Kuwait! When Lucas returns to his ranch to find his internet girlfriend toting a pistol in one hand and a baby in the other, he wonders if he should have stayed in the desert. Lucas can’t believe he is seeing his internet girlfriend, Natalie Clark with a baby in her arms when they had been communicating via the internet for almost a year and Natalie never said a word about the little man. Nor is he very thrilled with the prospect of this beautiful woman being in his home tempting him, but that’s exactly what happens because right before Lucas’ homecoming, his long time housekeeper, cook and friend, Hazel has hurt her hip and begged the very talented Natalie to fill in for her until Christmas. Natalie has been in a precarious position since she she became pregnant with her best friend, Drew’s baby. In a drunken stupor the best friends since childhood fell into bed together before he returned to his tour in Kuwait. Natalie didn’t even have time to tell him about her pregnancy before his death in the desert. After living in denial about her pregnant, it just never seemed a good time to tell Lucas, who she started chatting with upon their mutual friend’s death. Lucas thought he would be able to fall quickly into a relationship with Natalie, but baby Joshua could be a deal breaker. Only thing is, all the Allen men and all at the ranch have fallen in love with Joshua and leaving is going to be a very hard on everyone. If only Lucas would get over his stubbornness and see the woman he begun the internet friendship with, things might actually end well. There is never a dull moment in The Cowboy’s Christmas Baby by Carolyn Brown, who’s sassy personality comes out in each and every page. All the characters shines through in this story; I wanted to be a part of it. All the Christmas plans and the traditions put me in the holiday spirit and the sizzling romance doesn’t hurt either. If you’re going to pick up one Christmas book this season, I strongly suggest that you pick up Carolyn Brown’s The Cowboy’s Christmas Baby. * ARC provided by publisher

Hott Synopsis: Can things get any worse? For more than a year Lucas and Natalie have been chatting online. They’ve become friends with the hope that there can be more. To that end, Lucas can’t wait to return from Kuwait as Natalie will be waiting for him on his ranch. Little does he know that there is some huge… well, tiny… that Natalie has been holing back. Will Lucas be able to look past the lie of omission and claim the girl and the family he’s always wanted? Hott Review: What I liked: The story was heart-warming and fun. I really enjoy the portrayed Texas rancher personality. These men are hard working, God-fearing, loving men and I adore reading books about them. Besides, it’s about a rancher who falls in love with a single mom & her son. What could be better? This is the second book in the series and though the previous characters were mentioned they didn’t have much to do with the story. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series, though. What I didn’t like: There really was a quite a lot of foul language in the book. I actually almost didn’t finish the first chapter because of the language and angst in the first couple of pages. 4 out of 5 for this reader folks!  Ah ... what a beautiful story this was.  The Cowboy's Christmas Baby by Carolyn Brown is exactly as the title suggests.  One cowboy, one baby and one heck of a Christmas.  A contemporary love story, with some hot scenes, amazing comedy and a list of secondary characters that make you want to read more. What would you do if you were our main man Lucas??  He comes home to his ranch after serving overseas for the past year, all he wants is a good home cooked meal and to anticipate the arrival of a lady (this is our main lady Natalie) that he has been cyber dating during that year away.  What he gets and what meets him at his front door is not only Natalie with a pink pistol in her hands, dead coyote at her feet, but a BABY on her hip.  WHAT??  A BABY??? Yah that kinda got my attention too!  LOL  Turns out Natalie was preggers when they were cyber dating (most def it is deceitful, but she is easy to forgive) and she had wanted to show up a few days early to surprise Lucas.  Lucas is, rightfully so, SHOCKED.  He is okay with her being there early .. but a BABY??  After the initial shock and a few chapters, there is an acceptance (didn't hurt that the family was completely, excuse the pun, gaga over lil man, and the fact that Natalie grew up on a ranch) Lucas and Natalie settle into really getting to know each other in person.  Turns out the chemistry they had over the internet, is doubled face to face.  As they ease into a romance, each also deal with the loss of a close friend (you have to read for more on that), and Lucas has trouble with PTSD and reintegrating into his "normal life". Natalie is a spitfire and one strong woman.  Despite her deceit, she is perfect in all ways.  She is so strong and such an asset to Lucas and his family and I couldn't help but admire her a little.  Add in a few more sexy cowboys (this is the second book of this series), some amazing laugh out loud moments and the magic of the Christmas holiday, I found myself feeling so much warmth and love towards these people and anxious to read more! An absolute great read, but I never felt that WOW factor that I feel with my 5 out of 5 ratings.  That will be my only negative (if that can even be considered negative) comment, as it's a Christmas story and it just doesn't feel right to nitpick anything Christmas.  LOL If you love some hunky cowboys, one liners, lots of teasing, a romance that comes together against most odds and lots of Christmas love then this book is for you.  It's not a heavy read but one you can enjoy curled up by the fire with the snow falling outside.  You do not have to read the first book to appreciate this book, but if you like visits by past characters of a series, then you may want to read the first one before you tackle this one! HAPPY CHRISTMAS READING! :)

I absolutely loved this book from page one. This book has a very refreshing and fun story line. I love the way that Carolyn Brown describes small town America . The chemistry between Lucas and Natalie was smoking hot. I also enjoyed how family orientated that both sides of the family are. I have to say that the one liners in this book are so witty that you will catch yourself laughing for most of the time that you are reading. If you are looking for a fun and romantic book this is it, I bet you will find yourself reading the entire book in one day, just as I did.
