About the Author

Ohio native, Ellen Kolman is an award winning author driven by a passion to teach children the love of Jesus. She has been teaching and entertaining children in the church and Christian school settings for more than 35 years. Her young students inspired her to write stories to help them understand kindness, forgiveness, empathy, and friendship. Seeds of Sunshine, (2024 Firebird Book Award Winner), is her first published book. The vision for Ellen's books is to provide Christian families with sweet engaging stories about sharing Jesus' love and forgiveness with those around usEllen and her husband Andy have five adult children and three grandchildren.

Kaelen Felix is a children's book illustrator, graphic artist, and poet from the Saint Louis, Missouri area, where she also currently resides as a freelancer who has been specializing in this field since 2018. Ms. Felix is a graduate of Memphis College of Art where she obtained her BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in Illustration and has been professionally creating children's books for clients that can be seen on Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Books-A-Million, Bookshop, Booktopia, Goodreads, Walmart, plus more.Ms. Felix's work is known for finding the beautiful, saturated joy in wildlife to making these ethereal published children's illustrations come alive. Her illustrative technique isnot only rich in color, but also her angelic poetry combined with her art allows her poetic tales to be uniquely different. Her love of writing comes from figurative language such as alliterations and combining those metaphors into rhyming tales with including characters, such as her nieces. With every illustration, she strives to bring laughter, fun, and joy to every big to small illustrations for her children's books. Almost two years ago, Lisa from Prolific Pulse Press LLC accepted Kaelen Felix as a client for her first upcoming children's book. Kaelen's first book debuted on March 17th, 2025. Her book is called, Wings and Whispers: Tales of Friendship (Volume 1) which takes you on a magical and fantastical adventures through the poems. After the release of her book, Kaelen has been featured on KSDK: 5 On Your Side on March 23rd, 2025. More recently, Kaelen earned a finalist award for her book from the American Writing Awards from the Fiction-General category! She even earned a certificate in recognition of outstanding literary achievements.
