When Krista catches her boss doing the unthinkable, the only thing she can do is run, straight into the arms of the eye-candy she's been trying not to flirt with on her lunch break. But whose side is he on?

Ryan's security firm is having a hard time getting off the ground, and this may be just the job to help the company out. But pseudo-bounty hunter isn't really what Pierce Securities is trying to get a name for. When he finds out their target is the classy lady from the park, all of Ryan's senses go on high alert. What do these men want with her?

Krista is forced into Ryan's sanctuary in the woods, where she realizes just how wild he is, but she doesn't want to tame him. He may feel his methods of protection endangered her, but without Krista in his life, Ryan is crazed.

This is book #1 in the Pierce Securities, a Romantic Suspense series by Anne Conley, author of the Stories of Serendipity and The Four Winds.

I think the author needs to re-write this synopsis. It makes absolutely no sense.

The good guys didn't seem very smart for ex-cops, etc. Thoughts of the charactors seemed childish at times.

I didn't care for the foul language. I thought it was over done. The story is mostly about sexual attraction. The security team seems amateur and the criminal scenes unbelievable. I won't be reading more from this author.

Nothing better than a good romance with a little mystery/suspense thrown in! I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t put it down.

Loved It Krista was working as an accountant at a small investment company. She was looking forward to driving down and seeing her nephew in his basketball game. She was lunching at the playground and talking to her sister on the phone. Ryan was sitting close, he thought she was classy, she thought he was dreamy looking. He works for a security company. When she goes to leave for the night she finds her boss doing bad things to a little boy and it was being filmed. She took the boy to the police. But she didn't know that would put her into some guys crosshairs. Now she need protection

I enjoyed the action. The heroine does the right thing and ends up in trouble. Who doesn't want that to end happily ever after.

No cliffhanger but more story to tell. Loved this one! Lots of sexy tension buildup and some hot scenes. Great security/protection firm story. Loved the brotherhood of men that star in this one! Warning: Some mention of child sexual abuse but not descriptive.

Anne Conley did it again! A great read about real life events. Most romance books are the same thing over and over – the billionaire and his employee, “fifty shades of grey”, same plot but different names. Anne’s books are refreshing to read because they are different from every other romance book you pick up to read. She captures real life events, tragedies and emotions and brings them to the reader’s awareness.   If you are looking for a great read that is not like all the rest of the books, then you definitely want to read this book (or any book) from Anne Conley!

4 star The story has laughs, pain, kidnapping, secrets, and heartbreak. I was pulled right into this story. This is Krista and Ryan’s story. Krista walked in on something and after trying to run on her own she is caught by Ryan.  She thinks Ryan is working for the bad guys and she tries to run from him.  Ryan can’t figure out why Krista is running.  Her boss hired him to find her but her boss was acting weird and they are not sure they should hand over Krista.  While Ryan and his boss find out who is bad Krista or her boss they will just hold on to her.  Can they protect Krista from the evil that is coming for her?  Or will they end up leading her right into the hands of the evil? I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.  I highly recommend this book, can’t wait for the next story in this series.
