Eve does wonderful light reads. Her characters are fun, relatable, and sexy. This story was great and is a fun vampire story.

Have I mentioned that I have a new fave author for those off-beat sexy paranormal romances? This is another story by Eve Langlais, and her books are fast becoming my new obsession.  In Crazy Vamp Love ( a slightly plumper version of the book released in 2010) we meet a vampire who seems to feel the local mental institution is his own personal dining hall.  But, while he isn’t looking to harm anyone, he is exploting the residents, until he finds one who looks right at him with a mix of curiosity and innocence.  Eve has heard voices most of her life, and these voices share secrets: other people’s secrets that they would rather not have told.  Believing she is crazy, she was institutionalized in the hospital where Zane the snacking visitor grabs his nourishment.  Far from being afraid of him, he is the first person who can calm her voices: in fact she hears nothing.  Of course, if you had to listen to everyone’s secrets you’d be desperate to have a moment of silence to yourself, so it’s not surprising that Eve wants to know all about Zane, and hopes to see him again. For his part, Zane can’t but help wonder at this girl who was so fresh, so unafraid and so  ….ok, in need of him.  Yes, she needed him.   So he breaks her out of the hospital, and takes her home.  Unique and clever, their chemistry is well-developed, and the cleverness of the dialog is not just between Eve and Zane.  Yes, even the voices that Eve hears have their own brand of snark, which almost makes you miss them when Zane’s presence quiets them for Eve.  What is more impressive to me though is the exuberance and enthusiasm with which Zane accepts Eve into his heart, he is so endearing and adorable you almost expect him to pinch himself to see if this is real.  And while their sexual behavior is slightly curtailed with voices making a kerfuffle, the steam and sexy scenes that are so well done by this author will not fail to bring the steam.   I received an eBook copy from the author for purpose of honest review for the Jeep Diva. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

I also won an audible copy of this story from Eve. I listened to it as I was working out at the gym. I'm that others wondered what I was laughing out loud about. I can't wait for the next story about Elle!

I have heard a lot of good things about Eve Langais's books, but this is the first of her books that I actually read. And after reading it, I can definitely see why I heard a lot about her books. The writing style is really well done. The tone of the story is light and humorous and it makes for a fun read. I had a lot of fun reading this book and am already looking forward to reading more by this author. The chapters are short, which worked great for me. There are chapters from both Ella and Zane's point of view and a few from another point of view. there is a touch of danger, but it gets resolved quite easily. It's mostly a paranormal romance, told in a light and humorous way, with a bit of sex thrown in as well. The cover really fits the feel of the book. Ella and Zane both seemed like nice characters. Zane has been a vampire for ages and now Ella comes in his life and shakes things up. Ella has been in a mental asylum for almost her whole life because she hears voices. She's a bit naive, but on the other hand also has a very interesting perspective on life. Not much fazes or scares her after what she has seen. There could've been a bit more character depth as it does stays on the surface a bit, but on the other hand I didn't really miss it either. There is limited world building, we learn a bit about Ella's condition and what it means to be a vampire. But it's pretty minor. The focus is on Zane and Ella their romance and how they deal with Ella's voices we want to make sure she stays a virgin. There was a nice twist that was fairly original, although not too surprising. I just hadn't figured out the details yet, but I had predicted something along those lines. To summarize: Crazy is a lot of fun to read! The tone is light and humorous and perfect for those times when you need a fun and enjoyable story. The writing style is really well done and easily sucked me in the story. The short chapter length worked great for me and I liked reading both Zane and Ella's perspective. The world building is pretty minimal and we also don't learn too much about the characters, but the book is just a lot of fun to read and those points don't really detracted from my enjoyment.

Crazy is a sweet, funny sometimes heart wrenching tale of a young woman who hears voices. She was abandoned to a mental institution at a young age and grew up in that environment. But don’t feel too sorry for her. Her voices can and do act out when she is in danger or just because they can. The only one to ever quiet the voices is a 300 year old vampire who just wanted a meal. And there their adventure begins. Watch as Ella learns to live outside the ordered/controlled environment of the mental institution. Watch as Zane starts to feel again. Watch as these two fall for each other. Enjoy their trip I know I did.

There were a lot of pros and cons to this one.  I loved Ella, the crazy girl who hears voices, she was funny and engaging and had a bit of a smart alec hidden underneath.  On the down side, I kept picturing her as a teenager because of her attitude and way of speaking - which really didn't fit with this type of romance.  Don't get me wrong, she was an amazing and funny character, but something needed to put her more in the adult world for me. Zane was not quite your typical dark and brooding vampire.  He is completely flabbergasted by the fact that Ella is immune to his mesmerizing skills and when he finds her in danger, he's quick to swoop in and rescue her.  He was almost more determined to help her than she was herself. There is a secret bad guy on Ella's trail.  I would have loved to see more about him and understand why the power was so important to him.  He just kind of popped up out of nowhere.  I'm hoping (hint hint if Eve is reading this) that there may be more to the story in the form of a sequel - perhaps Zane's female vampire friend needs to find some romance in her life as well?
