J.S. Rabbitte has gone through many traumas in her lifetime, some of which you will wonder how she recovered from them.Between a crazy, gunsmith father and a psycho, in-denial mother, you will wonder how she got to where she is today. If you want a sad autobiography with an extremely humorous twist, this is the one.

Maybe there was emotional dysfunction that, while normal looking on the outside, has kept you trapped in a quagmire of failed relationships and personal destructive behaviors? Do you feel anxious or unacceptable under criticism? I bet you've already tried our society's most recommended remedies - getting a high paying job, having overpriced coffee, and buying the newest car. Good news: there IS a way out, but it ain't easy or quick at times. This book is for you. 'Crazy White Trash: An American Success Story' is an unabashed look at a family filled with generational cycles of trauma, abuse, and hostility. On the outside, they attended church and the girls got excellent grades. Mother was a volunteer Death Row prison chaplain on weekends. No one knew of the pain and psyche-searing events unfolding inside that family. The author was the youngest in a dysfunctional Brady Bunch, the unwanted 'Cousin Oliver' for whom there was no acceptance. From the first sentence, the book grabs you with its rolling, derisive quasi-sarcastic tone and places you in the middle of an assault that nearly killed the author at 31. The author has been quoted as saying her life is like a bad Lifetime movie with Valerie Bertinelli - there may be hope for that yet!!
